One of my best friends is a super teen. She's gotten straight A's in kindergarten, has lots of friends, is super neat and organised, participates in everything, and is skinny.

I am the opposite :(

Whenver I talk to her, I feel unconfident about myself.

Whenver we fight, she always has more sense and proof

What am I to do!?!?
I am the opposite :(

If someone robs you...defames you...Makes a following of mockers to harass you...and doesn't have the guts to confront you....oh..don't forget the nasty rumors.....When is it time to Not Be Nice and exercise the muscles of your middle finger and say things you may or may not regret later? Is there a line between assertiveness and aggression? Even if only expressed verbally? How long must the road to Peace become? Is it really better to live and let live? Grudges lead no where....And lawyers are expensive....I realize...by harboring resentment....I allow my past to control me...So..regardless of your answer(still wanted) I intend to rid myself of all my hatred and anger....Good day...cheerio....Hmmm....Aint workin' I'm still TICKED RIGHT OFF!!! but I'm workin on not bein ticked right off....scuse the grammar insuffiencies

For instance, a yankee pitcher died in a plane crash today in NY with two other people. Everyone knows that, in fact there were literally hundreds of questions posted on here about it. However, also announced today was a pole that 650,000 Iraqis were killed since the begining of the Iraq war, and only like 10 people posted questions. Also, over 300 american soldiers died last week alone. Also, thousands of people die in car accidents every year. In fact one of my coworkers lost their dad yesterday. There are numerous other examples that don't include Iraq. But every now and then one is elevated to an extremely high status.

It also happens with more common things like the "run away" bride media frenzy a while back. How many other brides get cold feet? thousands I'm sure! Any thoughts?

Whenever there is a problem even a small little problem my mom likes to have an audience to complain. I think it's so immature. Like what happened today. My 6 year old sister was eating soup and I asked if we have a granola bar. My sister kept asking for one too and my mom got mad, blamed me and made a big deal out of it. Then she started telling her sister, "Ohh she did that" like I did someone reall bad. She has nothing else to talk about. It's so freaking annoying and it pisses me off.

Is it possible to move beyond what others feel is best for you and look under every rock until you find what you are happy with? Pertaining to Life, Love, Work, Religion? I know it is....But oppression seems to haunt me...I gotta do what I gotta do.....And I have only myself to blame...I allowed momentary lack of reasoning to cloud my ultimate vision for myself. Accountability is one thing...Brushing the dust from my garments and forgiving trespasses is another...Whew!! Liberation!!

In a war zone in africa, the local people hang thier crying babies cribs on nearby trees on the outskirts of the village so as not to give thier position away to waring factions and gunman.
This way the babies learn not to cry when hungry and so condition the children to stay quite. can you tell me the name of the tribe and in what area in africa does this occur

Obviously, it's important that other people *know* your name. That's a given.

However, if you are alone with only one other person, is it important to you to hear them say / address your name during everyday conversation?

Personally, I don't like it when someone addresses me by name. I don't dislike my name, I just dislike being addressed by it. If I'm the only other person around, at the time, what is the need to address me by my name? If there are others around, then yeah, it's necessary, but otherwise, what's the point?

In the beginning of this year, I was in a relationship w/a person who (as I was told by a friend..Her 1/2 brother) was desperately trying to break away from an abusive husband. I went to meet her...Led by my "friend"...And sparks flew. From what I was told..I was great. Divorce papers were to b filed, I almost paid for them. I'm no stranger to trouble, and the father of the person I was seeing is a Police Officer. I was told to resolve a few matters(turn myself in..which I planned to do anyway)and I would have his blessings.... I did so..and during my brief 97 day extraction from the situation..I was robbed blind of tools I used to make a living (even though my family tried to secure them..they were threatened w/harrassment charges)Now I'm paying out the tail for small claims filing fees on a case that only the plaintiff shows up for, Starting from scratch and trying to avoid bitterness. She went back w/the man who was "Oh so very bad",and I lost my life in the process. Outtawordssorry

SHE has the role of taking care of him? Dressing him, cooking for him, cleaning for him and so on?
In modern society where do you think that notion comes from? He is an adult, just like her, so why that assumption is still living among us? Any ideas? Don't women think they don't want a child but a man to share their life? And aren't men tired of being treated like incompetent children?

Needing to vent, stick with me guys. Why do we place more importance and money on being entertained then the real things in life. Is it that we have such a bad lives that escapism is our only option? Why is it footballers are getting 20K a week and we are losing nurses, teachers, council workers who don't even get that in a year. ( I know, I know it's paid privately but it still makes you sick.
Yes, I am being bitter and it is a case of the green eyed goblin. I'm a teacher and can't even afford to buy a house and my wages have been cut by a fifth I found out today
If it was a choice between having your sick mother looked after, getting your children educated or a footy match which would you pick. Come on be honest......
Thanks guys I feel better.

But do the drugs exist in the first place and is the security good enough?

What use are these drugs anyhow?

I understand that even until quite recently, women looking for a partner would consider strength, fitness and health as important factors. This, I suppose was to increase the likelihood of having healthy childern. With advances in medicine and general social conditions, traits such as sense of humour and intelligence were becoming more important. However, I read an opinion poll in the paper the other day that the most important single factor that women looked for was how much money the man earns. Some saying that they looked for a partner who earns £50k others putting the acceptable salary as £100k. While I'm alright (yes I'm one of those deplorable, fat-cat City bankers that everyone hates), what has the world come to? Do you agree that so much emphasis should be placed on money and will marrying someone for this reason really mean that you'll be happy?
