I'm confused about all this catagorization of people like punk, goth emo, skater, jock, nerd, gangste, ect. People well ask me what i am and expect you to be in some part of a group and stuff. I not going to but its weird.

Of course you're confused. Just like you cannot classify people definitively into racial categories, you also cannot classify people definitively into social categories such as emo, goth, etc. We try and categorize people (by whatever criteria) to give ourselves a sense of belonging and identity, however, these categories are flawed because no one (usually) fits all the criteria of a single category. As far as what you are, just act the way you feel comfortable (within reason) and people will accept you for who you are and if they don't, then why bother with them anyway?

Well, for some people being labeled is offensive or stupid. For other people, the labels they like are an ideal to work up to. (The second statement is mostly true for younger people, the majority of clique/categorization questions are asked by them anyway.)
