I am not religious, but I do study the structure of religions, and I am aware in Catholicism along with general Christianity, one of the main focuses is to not be prideful, and be humble to God. I mean no offense to anyone Catholic when I ask the question, but in what ways is the pope teaching people to be a humble person?

I actually think that you have to be reasonably intelligent to come up with a quick sarcastic comment.
I belive that personal insults are the lowest form of wit.
It takes hardly any intelligence at all to call someone Ginger Nut or fatso or some similar type of comment.
What do you think is the lowest form of wit?

Someone in my immediate family just endured the indignancy and horror of having an awake colonoscopy at AMC*. While the procedure was begun without her consent, she cried out in pain repeatedly and begged for the physician to stop, which he did not. A nurse and patient care tech were involved with holding different parts of her body down to prevent her from flailing, etc. Upon describing the experience, after which the doctor left her without treating her pain with so much as a tylenol, she explained the incident as feeling like she'd been 'raped' - and we would like to take legal action. Immediately. The more high profile and scarier the lawyer, the better. Thanks.

If we catch Bin Laden alive, I wonder what will happen when we put him alone in a dark room with nothing but a television.

As for the mental sample of "what the outside world is like", playing MTV repeatidly many hours to him, and observing his reaction in the end.

What do you think he would say?

Saw "Akeelah and the Bee" and would like to substitute a Geography Bee - not Spelling Bee - any suggestions?
Does a movie or a board game about a world without borders and wars have any hope of becoming popular? First response – As for a board game like that... it's hard to say. The only similar game I can think of would be Civilization (the computer game adapted to a board game), and even that's quite different. My guess is that it wouldn't be a household name like Monopoly, though.

IF SO - Why do you think your a ladette, what do you think of the public perception of ladettes at the moment?

IF NOT - What do you think of stereotypical ladette behaviour? Do you think women should be free to behave as they wish, or do they need to be reined in, like they are trying to in ITV'S programme 'Ladette to Lady'.

If you have any opinions at all on Ladettes please get in touch, i am a social researcher and i am planning to do my postgraduate dissertation on Ladette women as a social phenomenon. I want to discover whether these women are empowering themselves, and making fully informed choices about their lifestyle.

I am looking for people to answer questionnaires or participate in web based discussions, either if they consider themselves a ladette, or just have an opinion on the matter,

thanks

Just now,I posted a question "is it possible for one culture to be superior to another one?"
Most people told me that there's are difference among cultures but no superiority or inferiority.

Now,I got a more weird question. You see, culture, like any other things,is changing, is developing. For a certain culture, it now must be different from what it was 100 years ago. They are one culture in different period, and we may treat them as two relatively separated cultures, right? According to the principle of development, the latter one would be superior to the fomer one because the culture has changed for better(if we assume that development is positive, otherwise, the culture has changed for worse!).

Therefore, we can draw a conclusion that one culture may be superior or inferior to another, huh?

I've noticed some people watch TV or use their computers with their lights off . I've never thought about it -- I just naturally have the lights on . Didn't Thomas Edison invent the light bulb so we didn't have to sit in the dark ? Isn't it easier to see the keyboard with the lights on ? What if you want to write a letter while you're watching TV ? Isn't watching TV or playing with your computer with the lights off basically pointless .?

Is it true many bulidings go from the 12th floor to the 14th floor and no where is a 13th floor listed on the elevator buttons?

Do you work/live in a building where the number 13th is absent...?

At your workplace, do the rooms or offices go from number 12 to number 14 and nowhere is room/office #13 found?

Would you avoid table #13 at a restaurant/dining hall?...of course, just to play it safe !

People talk of people from small islands like Mauritius, Bahrain, the caribbean islands having a far better attitude towards other cultures/ people than mainland residents. Reasons like the moderating effect of the ocean, they themselves being non-indigenous are cited. Inputs, opinions, actual theories all welcome!
