Someone in my immediate family just endured the indignancy and horror of having an awake colonoscopy at AMC*. While the procedure was begun without her consent, she cried out in pain repeatedly and begged for the physician to stop, which he did not. A nurse and patient care tech were involved with holding different parts of her body down to prevent her from flailing, etc. Upon describing the experience, after which the doctor left her without treating her pain with so much as a tylenol, she explained the incident as feeling like she'd been 'raped' - and we would like to take legal action. Immediately. The more high profile and scarier the lawyer, the better. Thanks.

Jerry Springer all the way there is no way a Dr would keep going if the patient was yelling for him to stop

That is BS! Colonoscopy patients are always put under or at least heavily sedated. If what she says is true, that is one hell of a medical malpractice lawsuit. If what she says is true, yes, she was sodomized with a foreign object. Find the most expensive medical malpractice attorney you can find in your area. Nobody should endure that against their will or awake without some type of sedative or anesthesia. Good luck. I hop-e she feels better soon.

The Jerry Springer practice for specific!!! A colonoscopy isn't a technique that demands standard anesthetic. I had one and became mildly sedated, not something extra. Secondly, scientific strikes could desire to not saved far off from the affected person's earlier consent.
