My host mom is in her 50s. She is currently a teacher in Baltimore City Public School. I have been known her for 5 years. She has been struggling with her teaching jobs in the areas for all those years.

She always tells people that her bosses dislike her because she is an African American and has her Master's from John Hopkins University. She believes her bosses are racists or intimidated by her education. the unfortunate truth is every years she has been asked not to come back to work AKA she gets fire.

I know for facts that she is a kind and loving lady. Althought I tend to think she is not the best worker because she likes to talk and does not get her jobs done as fast as others. She is now distress and depressed because she thinks her bosses treat her unfair.

What do you think? What is her issues? How can she improve herself?

P.S. I am only 22. She always talks to me about her problems. I feel obligate to give her my thoughts.

Thank you so much for your kindness

That come up with every excuse as to why they can not go for rehabilitation, counselling, or even tell someone who could guide them in the right direction, are expecting everyone else to change to accomodate them, rather than changing what they don't like about themselves?
Because that is the feeling I get from the thousands of YA posters who are depressed, but not THAT depressed, contemplating suicide, but can't think of a way to do it, and those who are just at the end of their rope, but can't afford to go to a counsellor.
You know, it gets very tiring after a short time when you try and give sound advice to those who are in need of it, and just won't take it, and get mad when you don't tell them what they want to hear - that they are okay, and everyone else needs to change.

Is it possible to have a personality where you are quiet and speak your mind? For example, if you don't really talk to people and ur kind of a loner, but is it possible to speak ur mind if someone asks you something or you just blurt it out, or if your standing up for yourself? ...just wondering

i have seen a psychiatrist and psychologist and have been diagonised with social anxiety .i am currently on anti-depressantsand i also practice deep muscle relaxation techniques and breathing exercises.i have got abit better but i have a problem with my 'fight or flight reflex'.i feel like i cannot cope anymore.when i walk in quiet streets or places and a car just appears suddenly or a person looks at me i jerk, almost running away, move really quickly(sort of an adrenaline surge).i don't have much of a problem with crowded places as i just blend in.when i am walking in hallways and someone appears the same happens.when people enter rooms that i am in(when they get me unaware) i jump and feel like running away.it is an automatic response and it has become part of me.i have been signed off work as i was always been kicked out of jobs and everyone thlnks that i am an idiot.i just cannot control it and people are always gossiping and i have become a laughing stock.what do i do?

Have had a mental health problem since the age of 14 - been on various treatments and had CBT and some therapy when hospitalised. Have had 2 referral appointments for psychotherapy - both times they decided I was not ready or strong enough to have some sessions. Why is this so?

In particular those who say they're depressed then deny it, threaten suicide, and don't want to go to counselling, etc....

I know this sounds like a dumb question but what is it about our make up that makes us attracted to certain people yet not others?

I wake up thinking "I hate my life"
I left the one I love, because I knew I could not live with myself after having sex with another man. I couldn't tell him either, I couldn't break his heart... So, I told him we could not be together..I feel ashamed, I feel like a horrible person. Now, I'm with the other man, who I feel wants nothing but sex from me, but honestly I don't even care anymore... I no longer believe in "true love" just a bunch of guys wanting to get in your pants... Whatever though... It's not like I'm being used, if anything I'm using him..I'm using him for comfort, for affection, because I am such a mess that I hate to be alone... I hate my self, & I hate my life... I'm trying to be "optimistic" but it's like I can't, this pain inside of me, is holding me back from living right. I honestly could care less, whether I lived or died.
I need help...
My mom wont get my therapy though..
I guess she doesn't want people to think something about her..
