They can only change your mind if you allow them to.
However, there are many ways to influence people and influence can be VERY powerful.
Do not believe everything you hear or see - research the facts and then make an educated decision.
Sometimes we are subliminally influenced and have no idea that we have been influenced!!!!

well it can but its not the only way someone can be influenced. observing someone elses behaviour or actions can influence someone.
