I think hate comes from rejection of some sort. There is a fine line between love and hate. First, you have to care enough about someone to hate them, or at least care about some sort of harm or rejection they did to you.

What produces hate in me is when people treat me badly and try to hurt me, either thru my career or in my personal life.

I have had two people attempt to do this to me thru work and I fought both of them with everything that I could. I couldn't beat either of them, I believe that evil and ignorance is stronger than what is right most of the time, but I at least held them at bay and didn't let them damage my career.

I don't let hate run my life but when someone tries to "hurt" me that way I do not forgive, nor do I forget......and I truely believe that "what goes around, comes around".

Hatred is an emotion of intense revulsion, distaste, enmity, or antipathy for a person or thing, generally attributed to a desire to avoid, restrict, remove, or destroy the hated object. Hate can be based on fear of an object or past or present negative consequences of dealing with the hated thing. People may feel conflicting and complicated emotions or thoughts involving hate, as in a love-hate relationship. Hate of someone or something is usually brought on by an extensive period of aggravation from the hating subject.

It's simply the human condition. We love, like, hate, or are totally ambivalent towards others.
