how much do`es attention pay?

My 5 coping methods:
1. Music (listening and dancing)
2. Writing (poems, journal, and sometimes even letters to God that I burn after and scatter the ashes in hope that it reaches Him)
3. Smoking
4. Making productive to do lists and keeping busy
5. Seeing a motivating movie. That hopefully has a happy ending or then I'll just be more depressed.

How about you?

in the news this woman recently gave birth to siamese twins attached at the head. they can survive for a while but they will have to be separated later on. the thing is, they share a brain. the mother will basically have to chose which child she will keep. the child that survives will suffer mental defects and never be able to have a normal childhood. the mother has 3 other children. the mother was offered an abortion when the doctor discovered the defect. she obviously declined. did she do the right thing?

Going with a positive note. Too many people have negative views on themselves so what do you love about you?

My family doesn't have a history of longevity, so have lost close aunt's and grandparents to death. The same is true of a few old friends. How do I react? You could say that I really don't, not in an impetuous or melodramatic way. When I learn that someone has died or is near death, I become inquisitive, wanting to know everything I can about how they died or what the problem is. I am willing to try and console those who may be more deeply affected than me, though I don't enjoy it or have a talent for it. But I don't cry with them. I don't hug them, unless they hug me. And I feel like I can understand them but don't feel or even desire empathy in that situation.

Today, I got some bad news. My grandfather, a close relative who I bonded with and never lived more than 30 minutes away from, is in the hospital with a possibly fatal ulcer. I just came back home from visiting that room with my crying mom and cousin. I just didn't feel what they did. Should I?

If a student gets good grades, but looks like they don't care for themselves, looks sad, tired with dark contours under eyes, agitated, stutters, and even trembles sometimes, and comes up with bizarre ideas, forgets things and is confused...what does this mean? Should it be taken seriously or because they get good grades it means they're fine..?

I have a journal and no one i know has one (or they dont tell me, i dont tell anyone i have one).. but i think people seem to "grow" out of it.

It has so much interesting stuff, and when i look back on what i have written i go through the same emotions as i did at that time. i love it.

And i have happy pictures in there and all the stuff i love, its like a happy book.

Do any of you have a journal and how does it make you feel when you re-read it??

Due to personal reasons, I need to quit masturbating for a while. It's kind of hard not to, so I'm wondering how can I control myself for a few weeks?

Why are people completely addicted to confessing all thier emotional issues to others? I swear, if someone talks about being a bi polar skitzo with abandonment issues like it's a freaking badge of honor or an exclusive club, I'm going to be sick. Nothing wrong with issues, but what is the DEAL? You can't over come it so you brag about it? I guess my biggest problem is that the ones who talk most about their mental junk are the one's least likely to do anything about it. Take a pill already!!!!

I don't mean people really close to you like friends or family. But can you tell apart people who are obviously self-confident (not necessarily arrogant) in your acquaintances, classmates, coworkers, strangers, etc. What is it that gives it away? Are you more drawn to them or people who don't seem as confident?

I think I may be mildly depressed. It started this past weekend, and when I'm at home, it hasn't stopped. It gets better when I'm at school, and I kind of forget about it, but once I get home, I feel sad all the time, and I don't know why!!! I've even stopped eating as much as I used to and I fear I'm becoming anorexic. I'm scared of what I'm doing to myself, yet I feel like there's nothing I can do!! Please help!
