I go through phases of happiness, and complete and utter depression, which I am in right now, where I feel like I'm the lowest of the low.... I don;t ANY drugs, I just always feel like this, like I have 5 weeks of complete happiness, and then 1 or 2 of complete despair. I have nothing to grumble about either, good looks, fantastic looking girlfriend, fast car, nice place to live, six figure salary, and I'm only 26 .... but right now, I just feel like throwing myself off a bridge, why do you think this is? I know in a weeks time I will be on top of the world, but right now I tink I'm ugly, my girlfriend will dump me, is too good for me, I'll lose my job - I'm serious, I'm wondering if this is some condition I have?

And they are driving you up to the wall with their negative remarks and criticisim?

How do you handle them and do you let them know about their flaws? And they often see things in a bad light, for example, if you have a different opinion from them they think that you have a problem? Tell me about it. Thanks~!

This is a bit of a long story...
I have had strong romantic feelings for my art teacher since the beginning of the school year. First, I would just smile at him in the hallways... then it turned in to me following him everywhere, having his schedule memorized. The next step I took was to write him a nine-page love letter, hand-written, and basically me professing my undying love to him. He wasn't actually supposed to get the letter, a friend of mine stole it from me and gave it to him, so I went and apologized after school that day.
It only got worse from there. I got a new digital camera for my birthday, and I became obsessed with taking pictures of him and putting them on my walls and on the internet. I created a shrine dedicated to him, where I have pens he's used, a sharpie he had in his mouth, and various samples of his writing and artwork.
The worst was still yet to come.
On Halloween night, he went trick-or-treating with his two-year-old daughter and a friend of his, and I

My colleague dreamt that she was on the Cape Peninsula (near Cape Town, South Africa, where we live) and that while watching dozens of whales in the water off the peninsula, she saw a tsunami approaching.

Anyone know what this might symbolise? Especially the fact that it is on a peninsula? (She has found symbolism for the other components of the dream).

If you were an able bodied individual with a desire to die, could you go face down in a couple feet of water and kill yourself? Will the human "survival instinct" always be stronger than one' s death wish? Living requires lifting your head, suicide requires holding the head down. Is it possible?

im only young so i look back and wonder how i got thru high school with all the pressures that came along with it. emotions were mutiplied by thousands. it was so important to be at the next party or be dating someone. i could never re-do high school, no way! but the hardest thing that ive had to face was learning to love myself and not be dependant on a male to make me happy in order to attract the right kind of relationship!

I'm currently a psych major with aspirations to be either a clinical or counseling psychologist. In regard to existential matters, I am an agnostic. Religion plays no role in my lifestyle or decision making. I've had one professor tell me that being non-religious may be an asset because it could facilitate objectivity. And I've had another professor tell me that being non-religious may leave me unable to relate to many clients who draw hope from their religion. So I'm undecided. What do you think? Would you want a faithless psychologist?

If someone believed that we exist within a simulated enviroment, perhaps on some supercomputer in a different world, how would that person be classified professionally?

Note that I'm not interested in a -phobia (unless one explicitly defines this belief), I'm looking for something along the lines of -iac (as in hypochondriac) or -ive (as in compulsive).
