Honestly before you start reading opinions of psychology, which is ussually the opinion of the author, try fundamentals of buddhism first, at any library. The buddha is technically the first psychiatrist, don't read the sayings or interpretations of people read the 16 truths first. they cannot be argued I tried.
Then after that you can read any psychology book from any author and you will see opinion to fact.
Remember the mind is a complex place to visit. Most psychologists are taught it, I can argue them all but I first read the truths and understood them and it made my mind more open to other opinions but I stick with truth.
(no offence to students)
When you learn psychology there will always be opinions who knows more or an ego to say that my opinion is right type of thing. Only you will see the truth, but don't let opinions direct you, and reading the 16 truths will help.

Sorry, but i couldn't help laughing at the first two replies.
On the subject, in 4 years of psychology studies, i have not heard of Luiza L. Who is that person? What type of approach does she bring to psychology? What did she do to improve psychology, or her area?
If it's one of those "How-to-in-two-days" Manuals, i'm not interested.
I could however suggest an interesting website that studies self esteem with tips, exercises, theoretical concepts and pretty much everything else you'd want to know about self esteem, it might help you.

i dont think that a book will boost you r self esteem. you need to find something that you want to accomplish and then work towards that. once you find out who you are and what you want, your self esteem will be fine. i personally like the book who moved my cheese to take a look at you rlife. then i would recommend Good Life, Good Death by Gehlek Rimpoche
