The hardest thing I've ever had to overcome was learning how to embrace life. Ever since I was a young child I was always searching a life strategy or philisophy... something special that would set me apart from everyone else and allow me to soar. I went through self help books, new age religions, meditation techniques, tarot cards, etc. Always searching, but never actually living. And all the while, I was on an emotional rollarcoaster, becoming less and less secure, eventually resulting in a nervous breakdown. Finally, at the age of 27, I learned that all really need to do when i get bummed is set some goals. Otherwise, just enjoy life!
The hardest thing I have yet to overcome is a stupid phobia that I just can't shake. Fortunately, one of my current goals is to overcome it. :)

Good question.
I am pretty young too so I don't really have anything good. I've had my share of problems and people dying on me, lost loves etc though, but I couldn't really think of anything profound.
The only thing that came to mind was strangely day to day life during depression. Not the thing as a whole, just single days sometimes. Being so close to suicide.
Hm..or,
Getting through that final stage between being a teenager and an adult. Finding myself. Realising what the real world is like. Realising everyone is on their own. Nobody really cares. People are fickle. Youth is over you can't go back. You have to be responsible now but don't know enough about being an adult to live well.
Angsty stuff lol. Things they make films about which are based around the "teenager" being generally confused in life.
I guess everyone goes through it. But I missed out on a lot of my youth so I took it particularily hard. Just realising i'd missed out on too many things. Looking back that's still something that's bothering me and it probably always will. Worse than puberty imo! Puberty and high school were nothin'

Well the most recent? First off almost died from a heart problem. Before that someone tried to run me over and then I was hit in the head with a pipe and held at gun point. Then before that I was kicked in the Jaw with a steel toe boot. My jaw was broke hanging. Then when i had to get my mouth wired shut, the wires poped in a car accident that i really don't know how i made it out alive. Then before that I was Jumped by like 8 people while i was walking home at night. Someone hit me in the head with a rock that night. And all of this happened within the past 6 months.

I can accept the things in my life that have happened outside of my control such as my Mum dying. I accept spending my teenage years in a home. I accept the wrong decisions I have made (sometimes over and over). But my hardest struggle was with myself.... and my alcoholism. Some things we can't change, some we can. I do know that overcoming builds character, purpose and strenght. Works for me! Good luck.

My dear child, u r so young with ur whole life ahead of u, just as I once was. But life has a way of throwing u a curve that changes everything as the years roll by. I have been faced with several major life threatening illnesses, when I didn`t know if I would live long enough to see the next season. After overcoming that ordeal I again was stricken with another major health crisis. Boy it takes something like that to put things in perspective. Life is precious and as long as u have ur health, u`ve got everything else licked. Neither money, clothes , parties, etc. r of little importance. So if u believe in God, then thank him daily for the gift of good health he has given u.

I cant say that one thing has been harder than another because each obstacle affected me in a different way with different emotions. The death of my mom was very hard. Being diagnosed with a life changing disease has been and continues to be a tough one. It is nice that you have learned to love yourself at a young age and realize you dont need to depend on someone else for your happiness. Good for you!!!!!!!
