Is this just *more* sexism (i.e. women need help / men need punishment)?

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/pressass/20071203/tuk-alternative-to-women-s-prisons-6323e80_1.html

A new approach to punishing women criminals could save millions of pounds a year, it has been claimed.
Findings from the New Economics Foundation (NEF) and the Prison Reform Trust said crimes could also be prevented by establishing a network of support and supervision centres.
As alternatives to jails they would help women offenders address the root causes of their offending, the interim findings suggested, by offering mental health treatment, help with drug and alcohol problems and advice on debt

Men don't need any help of course...

I know its because we dont have a uterus, but still, why only women? my friends gets angry and annoyed everytime that time of the month comes. they get cramps and headaches, everything is annoying to them, they wanna cry, they hate me and many other things.

why are guys so lucky that we dont go through this? why in the evolution guys didnt get anything in our bodies that would nag us every month? guys dont get angry and annoyed once a month like girls do. but when guys hormones gets wild, then we only get horny, while girls and women will get angry or sad, they will get headaches. I never got any headaches cause of hormones!!!!

is it just because of the uterus? ok, but why hormones in women causes mood swings? I never had any mood swings cause of the hormones, did you had? I didnt.

why is it such a difference between us? WHY????

Are you incorruptible, do you have a threshold?

We all know women can manipulate on the basis of emotion and beauty, so for me the question becomes...

What's the least you'd settle for?

(If you are a woman do feel free to answer as if the question was male/fem, or whatever suits your particular orientation)

FYI, I got a speeding ticket last week, my second one in 2 months...and I have never tried to do the a$$ kissing with cops. I usually want to make it short and simple, get my ticket and leave. Also, I make it a point not to apologize (not sure why people do), if anything, it's the people who I put in danger who deserve an apology, not the cop who writes the ticket.

My cop friend said a lot of women do get a free pass by flirting. Have you done this? And whose fault is it, if it works? The corrupted cop or the woman who worked the corrupted system?

Why is it that when a woman is raped, she has to die? It doesn't make any sense! Shouldn't it be the rapist that gets killed? I just don't see why women are treated like that.

I see many of you have a good education. I'd like to know how you financed it, especially the MA, what obstacles you had and how you overcame them.... and anything else you'd like to share. Also do you live in the US, or somewhere else?

Men are also welcomed to answer, of course.

When women debase themselves, many feminists account for such behavior in terms of coercion, a history of childhood abuse, the crippling effects of the media on women's self-esteem, and/or the oppressiveness of patriarchy in brainwashing women into thinking they don't deserve any better.

What sort of explanation makes sense for men?

I am having lemon basil lambchops, shoestring beets, and baked potato along with some French bread. I am pairing this with a 2004 Spanish tempranillo.

I don't eat lamb that much, so I figured today was a day to try something different since the weather is horrible outside. I might as well test my cullinary skills.

What are you having for dinner, lunch, etc. today?

I asked (in response) if anyone could find a study created, authored, released and publicised (promoted) which just for once or twice show men = good.

I am VERY confident that one does NOT exist... It might say "equal" or more likely "worse" but can anyone find a study by a feminist (or feminist group) which undeniably states men are good or better at xyz?

So, if no feminists can locate such a study by other feminists showing men as positive over women (just once would be nice), could then admit that feminism is not 'just about' equality - but also about bashing men?

is it also none of my business when I see the same woman being murdered?

After all, if I don't have the right to say that her unborn child has the right to life, then how can I determine that she herself does?

Hi,

Just out of interest, I thought I'd ask peoples views on what they think the differences are between men & women mentally.

Don't worry, I do know the physical differences lol!

Normally I try to avoid the celebrity trainwreck, but on the news, it seems that almost every day, there is some sensationalist story about how yet another female actress or musician has gone off the rails.

It is certainly in the media remit to cover what is happening in the world, and for better or worse that now includes celebrity, yet it does seem to me that the manner in which the press targets women is far more hurtful and insipid than the way it deals with male celebrities.

Appearance (is she anorexic, is she showing cellulite, is she pregnant)
Relationship status (does she have a new boyfriend, what about the old one)
Drug addiction (is she using/clean/in rehab/at risk)

the list trails goes on.

Does the media target women in a more malicious and invasive way than it targets men?

Does it delight in "Bringing Down Women"?

It just costs more money to be a woman. We spend a fortune on hair products, clothes, cosmetics, even our haircuts costs more, so why do we usually get paid less then men?

When people talk about womens rights, do you look at the blankly and wonder what they are talking about?

Do you feel that women are largely afforded equal opportunities where you live?

Have you noticed any big changes during your lifetime?
