I asked (in response) if anyone could find a study created, authored, released and publicised (promoted) which just for once or twice show men = good.

I am VERY confident that one does NOT exist... It might say "equal" or more likely "worse" but can anyone find a study by a feminist (or feminist group) which undeniably states men are good or better at xyz?

So, if no feminists can locate such a study by other feminists showing men as positive over women (just once would be nice), could then admit that feminism is not 'just about' equality - but also about bashing men?

fbklepper, being 'upset' is not a justification for demonizing an entire half the planet.
Gnu Diddy - that sounds like only propaganda, not scientific fact (i.e. fem men are better than 'everyday' men).
Jim J - I know EXACTLY what you mean. When I read that same topic I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the patheticness of it...20 damn seconds. what a crime.
The Sex Fair - I'm ready when you are ;o)
El Puma - spot on!
J_Maverick - could you please tell me how it portrays men as I am not familiar with that study (nor am I aware of it being promoted heavily)
66666z - my 'attitude' *is* itself a response to feminism's need to bash men using feminist authored studies which predictably paint men as lesser beings.
Deirdre O - Could you please tell me how these studies show men (in general, not just a few) to be better at something or not as abusive?
Bruce207, yes - but they were not feminist inspired studies. I'm asking for feminist done studies, not legitimate studies..

The Mz, I agree with your closing statment (different weakness/strengths thus neither better/worse) - however, you're projecting somewhat.
I have read SEVERAL dozens of 'studies' done by feminists which clearly state "women are better.." (which goes against what you have said) yet I have NOT found any that state "men are better.." (unless referring to 'better at abusing" or suchlike). What I asked for was a source of feminist study which shows men to be good in some way (without any snide digs at us or crying female victimhood) which has been promoted similarly to the promoted studies showing women to be better at something.
I haven't 'argued' with Deirdre O at all, I asked her for elaboration - please do not tell lies about me, thank you.

Every group has their own agenda, including feminists.

The best thing that you can do is not to be part of it. Always try to see the other persons point of view. You may disagree with them, but try to understand them.

Most women, thank God, are not militant feminists. Just like most men are not guilty of their accusations.

cheers.

Generalizations and gender stereotyping are the cement that keeps the ignorant content and the apathetic docile. The fact that there are very few positive results to the vast number of studies undertaking is clearly indicative of the methodology used to produce the desired outcome. Put simply, bad news about men sells books to women who can then quote 'facts' to others so as to support their own predetermined (mis)conceptions about men.Someone in this forum recently complained that men are calling themselves 'victims' and to her way of thinking this was offensive to women. She is the type of person for whom the 'non-productive outcomes' are designed to make feel secure in her anti-male attitudes. The average woman is, by and large, too smart to fall for this obvious attempt to bolster her ego with half truths, white lies, selective quotations and specious accusations......but there are other women who have yet to learn that the truth is not always what you read, anymore than it is what was written by someone with an unique agenda.

Deirdre gave you a bazillion sources that answer your question yet you still argue. Your agenda is to hate feminists and nothing anybody says will ever change your mind. It is far too closed. Read her sources and they are exactly what you asked for in the first place.
Men and women all have strengths and weaknesses so ALL MEN are not better than ALL WOMEN.

Is this going to turn into a thread where people provide sources and you argue that the authors aren't feminists so your question still hasn't been answered? Because I don't play that game. Take it or leave it. There are sources where men and women are shown to be equal. However, if they were writing that men were better, they would not be writing feminist work.

Here's one example where men are not the enemy:
"Performative Acts and Gender Constitution: An Essay in Phenomenology and Feminist Theory" by Judith Butler
Theatre Journal, Vol. 40, No. 4. (Dec., 1988), pp. 519-531.

You are correct. Remember that old truism: There are three kinds of lies; Lies, Damned Lies, and Feministic Lies.

I'm an equalist because I believe that men and women are born different but equal, are of equal worth, and are deserving of fair treatment under just laws. Equalism will eventually consign feminism into the garbage bins of history where it belongs.

Equalism is not just about equality, it is also the search for truth. Equalism believes that if an injustice is done you should fight against injustice regardless of sex, colour or age. Unlike feminism, which is gender-based, gender-biased and parochial, equalism takes a much wider and sensible view of relationships between people.

I have yet to read a feminist book or argument that doesn't see men as victims of the patriarchal society as well.

My faves are the studies which "dispel as myth" any commonly held belief which casts women in a lesser light than men, such as:

* contrary to popular belief, studies show that men talk more on cell phones
* dispelling a centuries-old myth, studies show that men are actually more irrational than women
* research indicates that female police are better at subduing and apprehending suspects than men are.

etc.

These studies ALWAYS aim to dismiss common beliefs as myth, but NEVER conclude that a man is likely to be better at something than a woman.

666666z, you're probably right - they are putting forth bogus studies in response to prevailing attitudes. That said, why do you treat them as legitimate "studies?"

To answer the question, i know i have a lack of citations. But i do believe that its been shown that Men perform better in spacial reasoning tasks and also that men have better upper body strength. I think those are pro-male findings.

You mean like that feminist study that concluded women had to wait an extra 20 sec to get a complicated cup of coffee compared to a man ordering a basic cup. I was truly horrified after reading that one.

Even when feminist know the study is false and based on lies, they continue to repeat them.

"Even as late as October, 2001, Planned Parenthood former executive director Diane Booth, claimed that, "Before the legalization of abortion under Roe v. Wade, one-third of gynecological ward hospital beds in the United States were filled with women who were there because of botched, illegal, back-alley abortions." Dr. Bernard Nathanson, co-founder in the 1960s of the National Abortion Rights Action League (but now a pro-life convert), knowingly fabricated the falsehood that "tens of thousands" of women died each year from abortion. At that time, Nathanson admitted that he and his NARAL colleagues pulled that number "out of thin air. We knew it was a powerful and compelling lie and we used it shamelessly" (Aborting America, 1979)."

Feminism comprises a number of social, cultural and political movements, theories and moral philosophies concerned with gender inequalities and equal rights for women. The reason that men were always viewed as bad was because the men had more rights then the women, they did not have to fight for equality, most men thought that women were crazy for even thinking about having rights. This was the same problem wit equality in races, and now although it is not as troubling to most people, but some believe that animal rights are as profound a topic as gender and race.
