It just costs more money to be a woman. We spend a fortune on hair products, clothes, cosmetics, even our haircuts costs more, so why do we usually get paid less then men?

Some of you male posters really need to grow up. The person who asked the original question does have some legitimate complaints. Why does it cost more to dry clean women's clothing that it does mens? The most common excuse I've heard is that women's clothes are smaller and need special equipment to be cleaned. It's not true. Also, women are more likely to be taken advantage of when it comes to car repair since it is widely assumed that they don't know anything about cars. With your attitudes, it's no wonder you hang around these message boards and put down women. It must suck to be dateless on a Saturday night.

I 2nd the thought. we've divorce expenditures over 50%, greater families with out the two mothers and fathers, and little ones that are so tousled, they have have been given to be drugged into submission. Say what you will approximately females's lib, yet there became a time while even profanity interior the presence of a woman became sufficient to get you a back hand. adult adult males tip their hats to females out of appreciate on the streets. study that to as we talk. hear to the music on the radio. that's all approximately treating females like crap. i'm a gentleman, raised by utilising different gents and gentlewomen. yet i'm as some distance from a marriage and kinfolk as a guy may well be. Why? have faith. i won't be able to have faith that some females lib chum of my destiny spouse won't appear and demand that she strike back at me for 2000 years of perceived injustice. Already i've got had a pair of school friends get their divorces earlier the age of 30. the female examine something in a mag, and the guy went from "husband" to "oppressor". that's sufficient to make you weep. fortunately, a clean breed of lady is taking off to emerge. those females have BS detectors inherited from their grandmothers and comprehend the thank you to make a marriage artwork. and each time I meet one, i wish she'll write a e book and flow on a lecture circuit. stable good fortune!

Yes, women have more and more costly needs.

That's why the employment disparity.

Because the business exists to make money, not to support you.

See, the job wasn't created for you. Nobody owes you anything. If you have too many job requirements, then there will be no job for you.

What you need or want has diddly to do with what you get paid. EVERYONE gets paid THE LOWEST POSSIBLE AMOUNT in order to get X job done. This is called a 'fee market economy.' The job isn't there for you to make money. The job is there so you can make someone else money.

Notice that jobs that pay very well require you to invest thousands of dollars and years of time in an education before you can be considered? Same deal. Nobody owes you a job. Nobody owes you crap. And nobody cares how long it takes you to get ready, in the morning.

EDIT: Pardon my tone. My apologies for being so crass. Rather than edit my post, I'll let it stand. Your question reveals a desire for entitlement, not equality.

as much as some of what you are saying can be valid, i have found ways to get all of those things and not spend a fortune. My husband spends more on his hair products than i do. and i feel i must point out that a great deal of what you listed, is not a "need" per se. clothing, yes, we do need to be clothed, and yes womens clothes that fit well do cost more, even at wal-mart. i would be more focussed on "why do these things cost more for women" since the pay is almost unrelated, and while there may be an extremely general trend of women getting paid slightly less than men for the same work, it is not a HUGE difference.

None of what you mentioned are needs.

All human needs cost the same for both genders. Food, water, shelter and family.

Usually paid less? not the case anymore. That's illegal. I haven't heard an actual case of a woman getting paid less than a male co-worker (for the same job) in my personal experience. I've heard some bitching about that, but in truth, nobody is getting paid enough to afford a normal life in America, regardless of what sexual organs they are walking around with.

None of those things are requited items. On the other hand, men eat more and need to buy more food than women, and if you want to get silly, well men pay for dates, pay for their girlfriend/wife's clothes, hair products, etc.

Anyway, your haircuts cost more because:
- there is a bigger market of women who want haircuts; men don't really care and women's hair are usually longer and require more time to care for.
- Same as above; women care more than men and women are the ones buying the products more than men.
- Same for clothes, but you also have a wider selection of clothes than do men.
- Cosmetics; have you ever seen a man wear them? No, because they just don't care, so the target audience is women and they all buy them.

And finally, you don't get paid less: http://iblognews.wordpress.com/2007/10/28/the-lie-of-the-gender-wage-gap/

There are two flaws in your theory.
1)Women don't get less. And even if they do it's because they do less work.
2)You don't have more expencece you simply spend more for unnecessary things.

And even if you weren't wrong on all paragraphs still this doesn't mean that you should recieve more. With this I can jsut go to Microsoft and say "I want $10 000 a month because I have a family, wife and kids".It doesn't matter what you need-only what you deserve.

And if you think that's not fair check this out-I solve tree types of calculas problems a day and I don't even get paid. There are women out there that serve burgers and get much more.

That you should live in a perfect Socialism Country that may be available in the future because their slogan would be:
"work in capability, get paid to desire". But in fact, the whole world are under capitalist where you cant get more than what you have done to it, so... You can ask this question if you work for your family or for your relations but don't ask your none relative boss.

You don't need hair products, expensive clothes, cosmetics or haircuts. Wanna earn more? WORK MORE. The wage gap doesn't exist, it appears to be one because most women tend to take middle-time jobs or less demanding jobs in order to take care of their family. Just because your sisters don't want to, doesn't mean you can't. There is no industry or company with a policy of paying women less.
Besides, a salary isn't determined by financial need, but for utility, efficiency and hours.
Rovale: women's clothes are more expensive to dry?! I would say "sillk, or clothes of more expensive materials are more expensive to dry. A powersuit is just as expensive to dry as any woman's clothing. And women being taken advantage at the mechanics isn't sexist: they do it because WOMEN TEND TO KNOW LITTLE ABOUT CARS, THEREFORE, THE MECHANIC TAKES ADVANTAGE!! If I went to the mechanics (I send my brother because i don't know **** about cars) I would get ripped off badly too.

This is actually in response to thetrueragingbull****'s answer, point #3 "Who created everything on earth including society(men)"

It's about time one of you F***ers took responsibility for the condition our society/earth is in. Jackass.

To answer the original question: you really do need to stop complaining. You don't have to wear makeup, shop at kmart, and get a flowbee if it's all too much for you.
