Here is the most popular misconception...when a woman gets emotional and presents dilemmas that she may currently be facing in her life, the man AUTOMATICALLY thinks that the woman is seeking ANSWERS from him. Thus the reason for the man getting frustrated, discouraged and eventually leaving the emotional woman to fend for herself in her hour of need...Need for a LISTENING EAR, GENTLEMEN...NOT the answers which you think we are SEEKING from you!!
I have found this misconception to be true in SO many circumstances with my husband. So I curb the problem and EVERY TIME I need his listening ear (ONLY), I tell him in advance, "Honey, I am not seeking answers from you, all I need is your ears, your time and your UNDERSTANDING!!" That seems to work... MOST of the time...
