Some (I am inserting a "some" here because I would not presume to speak for all women's misconceptions) seem to be under the impression (abetted by men who see to think it makes them seem "manlier" or gives them an excuse to be thoughtless and irresponsible) that men are all much more simple psychologically than women, that our thoughts are largely dominated by thoughts of sex (or sports or beer...), that we lack refined or intense emotion (save anger) or sensibility, that we lack aesthetic sensitivity, that we give no thought to human relationships, that we have no higher values than sexual gratification, that we are all gullible and easily manipulated by stroking our fragile male egos, and just generally that we function at what amounts to a lower state of consciousness to women.

This is kind of hard to answer but I will give my views. Most women I have met think I only want to have sex but on the contrary they want to know what they will get in return. That tells me that they do not love me....they want to know what is in it for them....so I get turned off. If I could meet an actual soul mate in my life it would be heaven.
I guess it is a common misconception that men are after one thing....sex. When actually if a deep bond is created sex is a natural way of solidifying that bond?

The fact that, like several other men here have, we are not all about sexual gratification. there are guys like that out there i will allow that but it doesn't mean that all of us are. i for one can completely and honestly say that i have never in my life looked at a woman and gone "i must have sex with that" ive never in my life even looked at a womans breasts or buttocks and yet that is the general rule of thumb that all guys "check" girls out. in fact there are those of us that completely pass over physical things and instead look at a personality. So in order to exemplify this i will list my thought process when it comes to women.
1 wow she has pretty eyes
2 nice laugh
3 she is fun to hang with
so yes there are guys out there that are notn entirely physical and there are guys that are not it doesnt mean all of us are beer chugging sports obsessed obstinate pigs. only some of us.
