What's wrong with that? Some men do that because they have very common last names and would rather go by something more unusual. Others have names that are difficult to spell or pronounce and they get tired of hearing all the stupid comments and jokes about their names. Still others do that because they are estranged from their fathers and don't want to use their last names. People can call themselves anything they want as long as they aren't using those names to commit fraud.

This is not a victory for feminism. It's not a victory at all.

Guys are starting to act like children and women, not act like the MEN they should be.

Guys lose because they are socially and behaviorally neutered.

Women lose becuase (deep down) women WANT a guy who acts like a MAN, not a WIMP.

It's just a sign of how screwed up everything is, because feminists want everyone to STOP realizing that there is a thing called HUMAN NATURE and that MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT, AND ALWAYS WILL BE DIFFERENT.

I know a couple who both took hyphenated names and several women who kept their own names, the men in the relationships were not "whipped" just quality, educated, and open minded men. I think it is a personal choice and if they want to change their names to "Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock" I am not going to judge either of them.

In a way, yes. Feminists have never liked that only women have to take their spouses' last names. Now things are balancing out.

People are still getting married?
Well if so, most are getting divorced anyways, so does it really matter about the last name?
Yes, a victory for feminism.

I really could care less what name people choose.. Key word-CHOOSE. I want them to be able to have that choice.

Personally I don't really want to give up my last name, I don't want him to give his up either. I would rather not change our names at all, it's pointless.

El Puma, my last name is soo much cooler than yours.. But I would rather not give it here, too many creepy stalkerish people on this site.

EDIT-Mendez sounds too.. I dunno, common?
But I was joking too, just in case you didn't already know.

My surname is Mendez... If I ever see, let alone marry a woman with a cooler name, I will kill myself. Im that sure. (that, or change it hehe)
The violinist: mendez? what is cooler than mendez? it sounds pretty cool with an english or usa accent!! cooler surnames would be "powell", "simpson", "anderson", or "prime". Besides, I was joking.
Common names are common because.. They are cool, so people chooses them. HA!

I guess, but still it seems a little weird. That issue never bothered me(changing my name) I was in love & proud to do it.

Well its their choice, i think it is a good idea because a least you can choose a name instead of "having" to go with the mans.
