I'm studying the Gilded Age of the U.S. and I don't understand this line in my text book:

"now afflicted farmer and debtor groups clamored for a reissuance of the depreciated paper money. They reasoned that more money meant cheaper money and, hence, rising prices and easier-to-pay debts."
Context: Loaners wanted deflation, because they didn't want to be payed back in depreciated money.

I just really don't understand the concept of inflation.. and why debtors would want more depreciated money when the price of their debts will increase..

Could someone explain this in simple terms? thanks very much

Having unrealistic expectations in marraige or relationships, that is said of us, therefore leading to divorce that apparently is brought about by our own selfishness?
Is it unrealistic and living in a fantasy world to expect a good partner/husband or do you think that it is realistic to expect of a man, the same as what is expected of us in a marraige or relationship?
Are we expected to love men just as they are? Well of course we are and we're happy to, we choose the partner who is most suitable for us and who we love.
But why is it that we as partners and wives are expected to change ourselves to suit some men? Why should we have to compromise ourselves?

He's my first bf and I know I can trust him. He never tried to pressure me to have sex. And I've curled up and fell asleep with him and never had to worry.

I read some of the nasty sick Q&As here about rape and I think oh. my. God.

Do you do this? If so, why?
If I find someone with an interesting question or answer I sometimes like to see if I can answer some of that person's questions.

The group that recently led a successful drive to legalize marijuana in Denver, Colorado, USA, campaigned on the idea that it is fundamentally safer than alcohol. No possibility of overdose, less violent crime (including rape), less possibility of addiction, etc. People also do not get into such a stupor that they can't remember having sex and don't know if they consented or not.

Is this one example where people would be a lot safer if they used marijuana instead of getting drunk?

for a complete physical. The doctor tells you, you are terminally ill! The cancer undetected which was at first site in your lymph glands, has now metastasized through the rest of your body.
You take it in calmly at first, for there are no resources, as the doctor says, to turn anything around. No chemo, no radiation, Only DEATH is there waiting.
Now, what do you do, for the doctor said you have at the very most 8 months to live, should you be fortunate.
When finally the BRUTAL realization sinks in, what do you choose to do?
1) walk in front of a fast moving truck?
2) stunned, becoming a vegetable-like creature who waits blankly, till the grim reaper comes a'calling?
3) go to a doctor in some exotic country for his newly invented cure. Which in your end is HOGWASH, nevertheless?
4) OR, accept the truth, even the increasing, nearly intolerable pain which will inundate you in your final 3 months, and STILL choose to write journals which with truth depict the true tale of your Life?

How can we tell the difference? I believe the victimization card will do people more harm than good, whether it's race, gender or one's past. But how can you tell if someone is "falling back" on their victimhood, or not?

Was it due to height differences and the fact that a shorter guy compared to a taller guy may get intimiated and "looking down on someone" gives you power or something?

Is it just because they have less experience of the world? Or are they actually programmed to be easily distracted for some reason? To keep them out of danger maybe?

Some examples.
When I was little I would go out to the fish pond in the garden and swirl a stick around in the water, laughing hysterically as the fish swam away from it. This act of poking a pond with a stick could last an afternoon.

Here are my top six most time consuming childhood pastimes:
Pond poking
Pretending to be a dinosaur
Shouting into a dictaphone
Looking for frogs
Feeding my toys
Holding spiders prisoner in tupperware

What an odd little boy I must have seemed to my parents.

i was a loner in a small high school, being the new kid..when i started college last year, i joined many clubs and weekend overnights to feel a part of the group, but i was always left out...i never really found a group similar to my personality, and when i meet a fellow introvert, that person prefers to hang out with the outgoing group--where i just didnt fit...now, im just on my own, i eat alone and read a book in a corner...i do one on ones, but i excuse myself out when she hangs out with the 'group...'...is this healthy??? or is this a sign of depression im not aware of....

Sometimes I'll have a young lady come up and attempt to strike conversation. I never know if she's interested or just being friendly. The only thing I know to do is check to see if she's just as social with other people. Just wondering if there are any subtle things to pay attention to.
