Social Science - 1 December 2007

Last night I had a dream about kissing someone, but I don't know who it was. It's like I couldn't even see his face but we kissed and I could feel it, but I don't remember what it felt like. We were in a Kroger grocery store and he took me to the magazine aisle and just kissed me for about 10 sec. What does this mean? I've never dreamed about this before?

i am a good lookin gal;though not d drop dead looks, i definetely make heads turn and am aware of this.. wenever som body whom i dnt knw, luks @ me (male / female), i look elsewer immedtly / look away. my frnds told me that this body lang makes me com across as havin a huge attitude.wen i saw myself in a video shot @ my frnds wedding,i kinda felt the same.m a very modest person n non egoistic but confident of wat i am.its only ppl who knw me who are aware that i i dnt hav an attitude/ego problem.. how do i rectify this body lang n present myself as a normal person who doesnt show off? how do i not keep my face set wch shows arrogance? this is especially a problem wen am alone.. i feel im a bit too rigid.
PS:am not comfrtble smilin @ strangers,so plz dnt advise that.

In Aesop's Fables the 'Fox And The Grapes'...
The Fox convinces himself that the grapes look sour after he fails to obtain them from high up in the tree.

While cognitive dissonance does soften the blows of reality...
I wonder what long term affects this has on the Self.

What happens to the true disappointment when one easily says:

"The wo/man of my dreams married someone else...well...it never would have worked out with us anyway."

Had an odd dream and was lead here by an answer to somewhat similar dream interpretation request.

There was a lot going on in the dream but what stays with me is a segment where I started coughing and having to clear my throat, which resulted in coughing up a small piece of glass. The coughing continued and produced more pieces, increasingly larger. The coughing eventually stopped, but by then the pieces were large, so large that I began putting my fingers in my mouth to pull out the pieces, to avoid cutting my mouth by spitting them out.

They became so large that I had to manipulate and turn them in my mouth, in order to get them out past my teeth. Then, I began having to break the pieces, inside my mouth, into smaller pieces, so they could fit between my teeth without cutting me. Then, I was sticking my fingers down my throat to retrieve the pieces.

I was panicked but working methodically on the glass. Never cutting myself. The glass was distinctly from wine glasses.

Although I can't confirm if there is any evidence, apprently, there is some to say that Iceland and Malta, and other small island nations are quite inbred. If this is true, it doesn't appear to affect the population much at all. Both nations are prosperous and well off, and appear to have life expectancies similar to the rest of the developed world.

Any thoughts?

Normally I try to avoid the celebrity trainwreck, but on the news, it seems that almost every day, there is some sensationalist story about how yet another female actress or musician has gone off the rails.

It is certainly in the media remit to cover what is happening in the world, and for better or worse that now includes celebrity, yet it does seem to me that the manner in which the press targets women is far more hurtful and insipid than the way it deals with male celebrities.

Appearance (is she anorexic, is she showing cellulite, is she pregnant)
Relationship status (does she have a new boyfriend, what about the old one)
Drug addiction (is she using/clean/in rehab/at risk)

the list trails goes on.

Does the media target women in a more malicious and invasive way than it targets men?

Does it delight in "Bringing Down Women"?

Once in a while I tend to get this dream that I have been sent to jail. Sometimes I am in jail, and other times I have been setneced to prision. Most of the times when I am sent to prision, it is for something that I have not done. Why do I keep getting this dream and what could it mean?

I feel like that all the time, but I keep telling myself things could be worse, but on the other hand they could definately be better. How about you? my 6 yr old daughter was talking out loud in her dream last night. She kept saying that the devil had on a hat (or that is what i thought i understood.) when she woke up she told me that she dreamed ugly. I asked what she meant by ugly and she added that she had been in heaven with Jesus and that there was going to be a big storm. Jesus told her to hold on tight to him. She somehow let go and ended up with the devil and he had taken her hat that she was wearing. she seemed angry about him taking her hat. she had vivid descriptions of the devil and her surroundings. it is wierd. What on earth is this dream trying to warn us about if anything?

This may sound like a dumb question, but anyways. So I hear your brain stops developing at like 20 some or so. So my question is say I I wanted to do things to increase my intelligence like playing chess to increase math skills.
