This may sound like a dumb question, but anyways. So I hear your brain stops developing at like 20 some or so. So my question is say I I wanted to do things to increase my intelligence like playing chess to increase math skills. Since I am no longer a child then would this not be possible for me or is it never to old to become smarter and increase intelligence?

You are never to old, but, as you get older you use less of your brain. Your brain is a muscle, and once you leave the classroom that muscle begins to weaken unless you continually exercise it, that is why some older people have a hard time learning, and I also think lack of exercise for the brain associated with a traumatic event, like the death of a loved one is the major cause of alzheimers. ;-)

I think doing alot of reading and watching intelligent shows would increase one's intelligence, too. I am not an expert, but it seems way past 20 years old, people still can gain intelligence....

Your brain is fully developed at the age of 21...or so. But this does not mean you stop learning. In fact it means your brain is fully capable of learning complicated information as well as socially dealing with situations in a positive manner and thought before actions.

You can go all the way you want to.On an average,we use up to about 10% of our mental capabilities, which means you still have 80-90% to be harnessed and put to any use you wish to.Don't worry about intelligence level as it's integrated with mental capabilities and you can work miracles with hard work ,dedication, concentration and optimism. All the best.
