I never take my anger or frustrations out on other people. It's not right; I've been the recipient of such actions and seen it done to other people before, which is wrong.

I never mean to, but it happens sometimes.
My family aren't the most emotionally observant people, they don't see the warning signs of someone really irritable after like you say a bad day. So although I don't want to shout at them or anything, they can be a bit oblivious and I end up doing it anyway. They soon realise that I can't deal with normal family banter at that moment.
Don't misunderstand me though, its not their fault, I should have better control of my temper. Just sometimes its hard to keep in check when you're being asked 20 chirpy questions after a rough day.

No excuse, just explanation.

Sometimes, but we have a rule in our house, if you had a bad day, you announce that fact, and that you may be crabby, and sorry if I upset anyone before that happens. By the time you say all of that, the family usually gets you out of the funky mood, or understands that it isn't them, it's the day. It helps, even my children can recognize a bad day, and announce it, gives me the heads up to help change their mood with some silliness.

One should not take his/her angery when they have a bad day but it is sometimes not true...even if you try hard to with hold your self to show emotion it comes out...so it depends in what company are you in...if you are with in you job circle you might not want to show your current emotional status but if you are with you friends/family i think its fine...they can understand.
