I enjoy dating women who are smarter, more successful, have more personality, and even may be more athletic, as it makes the relationship very fun. However, I don't think I could handle a relationship where the women was the physical protector of the two. For instance, if we were ever mugged or approached by a violent man, that she would be better qualified and able to protect us.
I know that is sexist. And if I ever had daughters, I would certainly want them to know how to protect themself. But I would feel really weird, and probably less of a man, if I needed a women to physically protect me. Again, I think women should learn how to protect themselves so they don't need men. But men generally being stronger, I don't think I could handle having to rely on women for protection.
Again, I realize this is sexist. But I wonder how both so-called feminists and most women think about this. Wouldn't most women want a guy that could protect them if it was necessary?
Thoughts?
