US 'could be going bankrupt'
Edmund Conway, Economics Editor.
London Telegraph July 14, 2006.

The United States is heading for bankruptcy, according to an extraordinary paper published by one of the key members of the country's central bank.

A ballooning budget deficit and a pensions and welfare timebomb could send the economic superpower into insolvency, according to research by Professor Laurence Kotlikoff for the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis, a leading constituent of the US Federal Reserve.

have this guy..who flirts with me but he never really made an actual move, I know for a fact that he's an insecure guy.. there was one instance where he told me to call him if I ever wanted to hang out or go to a movie.. and there was another time where he asked me WHO I spent my holidays with, and on top of that he's always questioning me about how come I'm always leaving when he comes and talk to me... so I thought well he told me to call him if i ever wanted to hang out..so I made the first move and asked him to hang out.He told me that he would like to but it would have to be in a couple of weeks because he is broke....But we haven't really connected and it's been about a week ago..would you say he's interested even though he hasn't called

Additional Details

He actually came to me and said I would like to get to know you..and he told me to call him If I ever wanted to hang out..and he said he had been putting out hints but I never picked up on em

Additional Details

And plus he told me that he was putting out hints..but I enver picked up on them..so he felt like I didn't want to be his friend...and then he went on to say that there has been times where woman have shown that they didn't want to be his friend..

I have a school project. I need to write about the word dedicated. I was wondering if some of you could help me. Some of my questions are:
1. Why this trait is important to have?
2. What impact this trait has on society?
3. What might the consequences of not having this trait be?
4. Why you think teens need to acquire this trait before they leave school?

My bf likes his beers. I used to have a problem w/ him drinking even one, but now understand many people like to come home and have a beer or two. The problem is that I think he is going to bars and lying to me about it even though I said I didn't mind, just don't lie about it, and don't do it every night. If I had the freedom, I'd like to do it also.

We have a son together and I like him to come straight home from work to have some help. Many times I'll call and he doesn't answer his phone (usually around 6pm), only to have him return my call a few minutes later and say he is on his way home. He said he's been working, but he's always home in about 15 min which is about how far away his favorite bar is. I ask him, and he says no.

For anyone thinking he's cheating, this is not of concern to me. Just the question of alcoholism (hiding, 3-5 beers daily). Feedback would be wonderful. Thanks.

I would like to talk to my supervisor about this but do not want to appear paranoid or one who wants attention. Should I talk to her?

I deal with someone on a regular basis, that is very degrading, sarcastic, and always pre-judgmental. This person argues whether or not he/she is wrong, and at every given opportunity, points out faults, that really aren't faults at all, and patronizes because of personal beliefs, always giving his/her opinion on what I should or shouldn't do with my life... This is sorely confusing, and I am trying to find a way to deal with this, other than ignorance. I would like to salvage a friendship out of this, but it's turning sour very fast... Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

I enjoy dating women who are smarter, more successful, have more personality, and even may be more athletic, as it makes the relationship very fun. However, I don't think I could handle a relationship where the women was the physical protector of the two. For instance, if we were ever mugged or approached by a violent man, that she would be better qualified and able to protect us.

I know that is sexist. And if I ever had daughters, I would certainly want them to know how to protect themself. But I would feel really weird, and probably less of a man, if I needed a women to physically protect me. Again, I think women should learn how to protect themselves so they don't need men. But men generally being stronger, I don't think I could handle having to rely on women for protection.

Again, I realize this is sexist. But I wonder how both so-called feminists and most women think about this. Wouldn't most women want a guy that could protect them if it was necessary?

Thoughts?

OK. Here is the meat of the question.

With our economy in the current state it is, would two or three really hard years fuel a crash akin to the depression?

Here is why I ask. There is SO much private debt out there, as well as corporate debt, and depending on who you listen to, more debt than non-governmental assets, that if there were a bad recession (worse than the late 90's recession) for multiple years, could our economy crash due to inability to service the debts. I am not refering to the national debt, that is a whole different conversation, I am refering our economic workings - while I understand the national debt is related to overall economic health, I am not looking for a debate regarding the national debt. I am looking for prespectives on What If.

This is not a political question it is an economics question, please leave your bush-bashing or pelosi-punishing at the door.
