This seems more of a philosophy than psychology question, but I love philosophy so here goes: I believe that the mind's natural state is wandering. To focus the incredible vastness of the brain into a single thought or action is true power. In fact some people believe this is the ultimate state of bliss to do so. So being a fellow wanderer if you figure out how to do so please let me know.

Excellent question-I am giving you a star. I think it equates to trying to get a child to sit still-they want to run around and do a million things at once. When you have to focus, you have to concentrate solely on the task at hand-its too easy to get diverted! I can't focus either I have to do the laundry, dishes, folding, I wonder if I have enough eggs for dinner, OOPS, there it went wandering again, lol

No. Focusing takes discipline and alot of effort. To allow your mind to wander is allowing to let it go and do it's own thing. No effort involved there.
