Yeah, that teacher was a little on the lousy side, because math is something that can and should be explained, how else are you supposed to learn? As for God, well, He's not always so easily explained (at least by humans). I say this because while a human can't always find the words to express what God is to them, if you open yourself to God, He has a way of showing you that I can't seem to adequately express right now. Not in writing anyway. One of my frustrations with this forum is that it's just hard to have some conversations in print! What "why" question did you specifically have about God? Not saying I could answer it, but maybe I could help point you in the direction you need to be in to find it for yourself. I maintain that God is not nearly so mysterious as many people think He is. He's had the rules all written down for us, if you want to talk to Him, he's right there. If you need an answer, all you have to do is be still and let Him give it to you. I understand these aren't the beliefs you have, but this comes from the experience that I've had with Him. It sounds to me like you want to believe, and you just need a reason; unfortunately, it's just really hard to do that here. I wish you well on your search, and if you want to email me privately to talk further, feel free!

Thinking is the processing of thoughts. A thought is an idea born out of knowledge and memory but which is often neither responsible for creating knowledge nor important enough to be remembered.
