I read that a 16 year old girl hockey player wanted to try out for the boys team even though there was a girls team at her school. I adamantly oppose this. I don't think it's fair to the guys to have to compete against girls in CONTACT SPORTS ONLY.

Men are taught to never ever their greater strength and physically aggressiveness to dominate or intimidate a women (yes, there is a ton of domestic violence, but those perps are despicable).

Yet, now girls/women want to prove they are physically tougher than men? I was taught it is ok to hit a guy if he invades your space, gets in your face, and threatens to kick your ***. I was also taught that if this hostile person was a girl, then you are not allowed to hit her; you have to walk away.

Yet, if you grew up in an environment where girls were trying to forecheck and tackle you during sports, you would probably hit this hostile person, even if it was a woman.

Do these same 16 year old girls also get separate locker rooms?

There are millions of people with out a shelter and food. If 50% from military expenses turn to elevate poverty, world would have moved to another direction. People who create weapons to kill human beings talk about peace and stability! What a mockery this is!

I feel like my life is boring because my dad is always in the way of things. You can't do sports because____. You can't hang out with your friends because _____. NO, you cannot use facebook or aim or even youtube. Pull up your grades. He totally ignores all my good grades and subjects I improve on and hammers down on the bad ones. Your NEVER going to get into a good college...BLAH BLAH BLAH. I don't ever seem to go anywhere exciting over the weekends unless people invite me, and I feel like I am missing out on life. Also my mom is better about handling this than my dad in my opinion. That is one reason why I love camp so much it is one month long and tons of fun, where I don't get so bored. I would like to have some suggestions as to what to do about it? Suggestions as to how to enjoy my life and not feel so isolated?

I believe it's wrong, how does a child learn from being assaulted and physically abused. How beneficial is it to have memories of your role models (parents) being violent? Is it not better to work on building their self-esteem and teaching them that if anyone assaults them its wrong? I believe making them feel they are worthy of respect serves them well.
What about all those crazy, unbalanced individuals who bleat 'it never did me any harm' I think the Scandinavians can teach us a lot, they outlawed it first and they seem fairly balanced and less troubled than a lot of cultures.

I keep reading how the huge amount of debt brought on by the housing boom and taking out loans on people's homes are going to cause a huge stoppage in consumer spending, triggering a huge recession.
Is this bogus or not?
why? I mean is it really that bad or different than in the past? You dont think people will keep spending?

Would you pay workers @ 100% for maternity leave, paternity leave, or both?

For how long?

Would you also pay 100% of their child care?

If so, what impact do you think this would have on the health of your business? Especially if you started to attract many people wanting to start families?

Im in dire need of Psychology experts
Before the age of 13, I had a happy childhood, father present, parents married..then after that age, everything fell apart and my parents divorced, dad moves out permanently (havent seen him in years)...However my mother has played an extremely important role in my life. Now, Im 17 years old and Im currently staying with a host family in France...the family bonds are very stable, however its me who is having emotional difficulties concerning the dad in the family. I just cant' stand him and he is really doing nothing wrong! He is a decent guy, however when he tells me what to do, (like concerning chores) it just frustrates the heck out of me! And the mom, in my opinion, works much more than he does! She leaves for work; he is still there, he comes home from work before she does..and we all know about the french cuisine and the female dominance in that area, but he does nothing to aid her! Will I ever be able to live happily with a man?
