I have a school project. I need to write about the word dedicated. I was wondering if some of you could help me. Some of my questions are:
1. Why this trait is important to have?
2. What impact this trait has on society?
3. What might the consequences of not having this trait be?
4. Why you think teens need to acquire this trait before they leave school?

1) Dedication is an important trait to have because without it nothing can ever change. It's very easy to say one wants to change the world, or to change themselves, or to have a better job or a healthier family, but without the dedication to follow through on those statements and actively make them happen, they're just more empty words.

2) Having dedication is how we, as people, make day to day life work. If we all decided tomorrow that not a single one of us is going to work, anywhere, at all, period... what would happen? Mass transit systems would shut down. Stores would not open. Schools would sit empty. Hospitals would be in a heckuva lot of trouble and it wouldn't take long at all for chaos to ensue because there would be no police out to help prevent people from going completely nuts, rioting and looting. If, however, we remain dedicated to our lives, communities and jobs, then our life continues to function from day to day without *too* much trouble.

3) *heh* See the above answer, for starters. Additionally, having no dedication means, for younger individuals, that there is no motivation to do things like continue their education. For older individuals it can mean things like loss of job, family and home, it could lead to depression and possibly suicide. And, again as mentioned earlier, day to day life could be disrupted or societal and personal changes might never have a chance to occur.

4) Ultimately teens need to acquire a sense of dedication before they leave school so that they can become active, productive members of their communities, of society in general. Dedication will help them continue their education seriously instead of potentially wasting the opportunities that college can offer them. It will help them become doctors, lawyers, teachers, perhaps even eventually the President of the country. It gives them the ability to not only keep day to day life moving for everyone, but also gives them the opportunity to change the things that aren't working and need some motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated person to make them change.

Hope that helps hon, good luck with your paper. :)

1) Dedication is important when you work on anything complex. If you are not dedicated, you give up.

2) Almost every invention has required dedication to make it functional, then known, then common. Our society hinges on many of the devices that have required a huge amount of dedication, including the computer your typed your question on.

3) Personal consequences of not having dedication can be living on welfare, giving up your own goals, becoming an example of mediocrity or less, and in relationships, dedication is the predictable glue. Without dedication (a muscle), it's easier to abandon anything.

4) Dedication is a great skill to have no matter when it is acquired, because with it you will remain focused on your "chosen" direction in life.

Live well

If you aren't dedicated to yourself, your family, your job, etc, you lose it all. You have to be there 1000% or don't bother trying. Teens do not have this trait, or rather majority do not. It's not their fault, it's just the way a teens mind and hormones work. They are all about "me, me, me" rather than about the world around them.

If I wasn't dedicated to my children, I'd have two very undisciplined children into god knows what. If I wasn't dedicated to my job, I'd be fired. If I wasn't dedicated to my fiance, he'd have left me years ago. Without dedication, there'd be more crime, more abuse, and less jobs for me and for you.

Not sure if I totally answered your question the way you wanted, but it's just my feelings on the subject.

To be successful in anything in life it takes dedication. Your job, family, relationships with friends, all require dedication to work and to progress in these areas. Without dedication, you are really just going through the motions. Teens need to learn how important it is to be dedicated so they can go out in the world and acheive their goals and dreams. Anything worth having requires dedication to get it and to keep it.

1. If you are dedicated you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the jelly. If you are not dedicated, you may miss the jelly or the peanut butter,

2. Cause if you expect a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then that's what you should get... Society expects people to be dedicated and make them sandwiches.

3. You get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with only peanut butter or only jelly but not both.

4. Cause you'll have to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich someday.
