I'm a teenaged girl. Most girls in my school are pretty touchy-feely, but i get really uncomfortable around people. Just the other day, me and two of my friends were fooling around and one threatened jokingly that if i didn't move, she'd touch me. I didn't think my touching issue was too bad, so I just didn't move. So... she started poking/tickling me. I started CRYING, no joke. I had no idea that my problem was so bad. Then I started laughing because i didn't know why i was crying. But now it's really bothering me... I can't think of anything that might be the cause of my aversion to touch... nothing in my past.... It worries me now because if I can't handle even being tickled, how will I able to uphold any type of successful relationship in my future? (note: no, i don't have a therapist that i can talk to about this, nor will my parents be willing to send me to one) any suggestions?

This poem is called "Simple Man in Complicated Life" Life, oh life why must you be this way? Dog me out and kick me from day to day? Chew me up and spit me out, taunt, torment, making me scream and shout? I see you treat others so good and well, with when others talk about you their life seems so swell, so why, oh why must you treat ME this way? Have I left you in such dissgust, your heaven you turn away? To the depths of the earth you throw me away, turm my heart into helpless clay, burn my passion for you into ashes oh,and by the way, your like a thorn in my side just waiting to play, my motivation, my desires for happiness you push and push until my red turns gray. Oh why oh why must you treat me this way, is there a lesson I must learn, in the end will my thoughts of you turn? Maybe it's just mecause every trial is a test and the strength from within yearns, more tribulations more pain because my soul knows from this there is spirtual gain,of virtue, wisdom, etc.no pain no gain

I know about a person's not remembering events that happened; but can the reverse be true--remembering something that did not happen, during an alcoholic blackout?

Ok, I have a boyfriend, and I'm absolutely in love with him. But I also have a friend, Matt, who I've known for a long time, and who's always been there for me & me for him. He's like my brother. But for some reason, I tend to have dreams about me and him being together, dating. I even had one about us getting married. We've never dated or anything, though we've both admitted to having past crushes on eachother, like, 2 years ago. We always help eachother with our relationships and such. What I'm asking is if it means anything. Is it normal to think of really close friends of the opposite sex in this way, or do I really have these kinds of feelings for him? I really love my boyfriend, I just need to know if my dreams about us being together mean anything.

I'm very sensitive to being startled, and I don't like the feeling at all. It gives me an "anxiety attack" type of feeling -- my heart pounds, I feel sick to my stomach and very jangled. This normally isn't an issue in my day to day life.

HOWEVER, my boyfriend thinks that startling a person is just being playful, and even though I've asked him in the past to please not startle me (like jumping out unexpectedly from behind a door and yelling), he still does it occasionally, and it really bothers me. When I tell him not to, he tells me that I'm too sensitive, and no fun. I tell him that this is not my idea of fun, and he tells me that he grew up all the time doing this sort of thing.

Yesterday he did it again. I screamed and felt like I'd gotten punched in the stomach. I said very loudly and firmly that he should NEVER do that do me again, that it feels BAD and PAINFUL. Instead of apologising, he got mad because I spoke up forcefully. Is he being unempathic, or am I way off base here?

First off let me say that feminism in it's untainted form simply means equality of men and women, This is how it started and this exact movement I do support. Should we not revise any and every law that is gender specific and institute feminist education to abolish all gender specific cultural taboos which can cause sexism such as misogyny and misandry, would this not be considered the ultimate expression of equality? Do you agree with me, why or why not.

Really. I will cry if someone wants me to hold one or kiss the baby or whatever. I won't do it. I do everything in my power to avoid touching babies because I think that I will contaminate them somehow (not like with germs, but contaminate their character). Don't get me wrong, I love watching babies--I think they're so cute and I love playing with them. As long as I don't have to touch them. This is getting to be difficult as many of my friends have newborns. Also, I would like to be a mother someday--I just don't how that would work. Is there any way I can get over this?
