Hi,
Before I answer your question, I want to you to understand “What is being Lucky?”

The modern, PRACTICAL, logical and rational approach to the definition of Luck or being lucky is defined as “ To avail the chances or opportunity while being fully prepared”. It is practical in this sense that it gives a “ mature and functional “ set of mind to achieve some thing rather than just dreaming it and doing nothing. Also is said” First deserve, then desire”.
Same is the meaning of “chances favor prepared mind”. It tells that If you are ready, prepared for some job or goal, and opportunity or a chance comes your way, then you will be in perfect position to handle it in positive and productive style.

Consider an example. You are looking for a job, any job, let’s say, an office job. And you know typing, office, driving, short-hand, etc. then you got better chance to have that job as compared to other person who lack one of these abilities. Again if your typing speed is 70 wpm, then you had better chance than who has speed of 60 wpm.

It is applied in every walk and field of life. It is true and very positive set of thinking. Even if you are student, factory worker, doctor, or teacher, it is applicable and yields positive results in the long run.

Being prepared also helps in adopting certain personality traits and both hard and soft skills. It keeps you moving. It keeps your dreams alive. It motivates your learning. This keeps you inspired to update yourself regardless of your field of work of job.
If you believe in it, it prepares you for being “TOUGH’ when situations are not suitable for you or adverse. It gives you light to carry on certain goals.

So, in short, it is an approach for living healthy, productive and positive life. It also gives you “right frame of mind” to interact with your society and help reform yourself, your family and your community and people surrounding you acting as “ CHAIN REACTION” influencing the others by your positive and practical thoughts, behavior and attitude.

Regards:

It means that a mind that is educated and knowledgeable about the world will be better able to recognize an opportunity when it knocks. Take Bill Gates. He was going to college when he saw an operating system that he thought was useful. Because his mind was prepared, he bought the rights to Windows and the rest is history.

Think about it. You will make your own chances if you properly prepare. For instance, study hard for a test, read the literature, listen, ask questions, etc. This will prepare your mind for whatever event you might face. Chances are greater if you prepare than if you did not prepare.

It means the more knowledgeable that you are, the more that you are prepared for anything. That if something happens, by chance, you all ready have enough knowledge to be prepared for it and deal with it.

It actually means that there is no such thing as chance. It means that people build their own destiny.

Take 2 students - one studies every day and one only occasionally. The very next class they have a test. The one who studies regularly gets a better grade than the one who studies sporadically. Is that chance? No.

"Chance" in this context is the sudden and random occurance of good luck. "The prepared mind" has already contemplated the problem and therefore, is much more likely to immediately recognize "chance" and grab it before it slips away.

Gawd I wish I could remember off hand who wrote that.
Just one persons thought to pen it was.
can be translated in as many ways as there is to make eggs.
lets try perhaps.
One with a more open mind can grasp more opportunity's than one with a closed/jaded/bigoted mind.
get the drift ?

IF YOUR PREPARED FOR WHAT LIFE HAS IN STORE YOU'LL BE ABLE TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES EASY AND PROBABLY WOULDN'T CONSIDER IT AN OBSTACLE. RATHER THAN BEING TOTALLY CLUELSS AND FREAKING OUT CAUSE YOU HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM/OBSTACLE AND THINK YOU NEED PROZAC IN ORDER TO DEAL WITH IT.

If you're taking a chance, you'd probably get what you want if you knew what you were going to do in the first place..maybe?
