The longest I have ever gone without sleep was 46 hours. Whilst that might not sound like a long time, consider this:
I got up at 7:00am on New Year's Eve 2006 and didn't sleep again untill 5:00am on Jan 2nd 2007, during which time I worked a 12 hour shift (on New Year's Day from 11am - 11pm) and partied all night NYE with a bunch of Goths in a field.

Might not be everyone's cup of tea or a world record, but all of my senses were so dull that someone could have put a bullet in my leg and I wouldn't have noticed. I was also hallucinating like crazy. Although I'm willing to admit that the hallucinations probably weren't caused by the lack of sleep (if you get my meaning). Not an experience that I would care to repeat (although I probably will).

no extra then 40 8 hours instantly and that is without caffeine too. Like now, i imagine i'm about 15 hours~ish so some distance. I only tried going back to sleep yet couldn't, even with having activities for many of the day on the prompt.

Well It is only 12.41pm in the afternoon here so I will be awake for another 10 hours or so. Do I get the 10 points then?

I'd usually win hands down cos I'm a student and therefore have a really whack sleeping pattern. however I have to be up at seven, so might be on here for just another hour or so tonight!

I could prolly stay awake for 30 hours ... but it would detriment my usual pattern of lifestyle, and I will need a more serious reason than a silly dare.
