Little girls have all sorts of different examples and some thin people are thin, period. They are still people. The dieting practices that are touted by many may be the problem, here, but then again, you have many health eating alternative diets offered. These little girls are not downloads of our " society " and there are several good evolutionary reasons why women think they need to hedge their beauty " bets ". This behavior of women is nothing new and has been held to the opposite effect in times past.

Absolutely not; it only sends a subliminal message that unless you starve yourself to look as thin as a 10 year old nalnourished boy, you are not worthy of attention and will not look good in designer clothes.

I worry about the future of the teen girls who idolize Linsdey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton and Kate Bosworth think that they are role models of what a "successful" person should be and want to emulate them.

Sadly then only women in Entertainment that I trying to make a rounder, normal, shape more appealing are actresses, not models, in their late 20's to 30's like Kate Winslet and Patricia Arquette.

No they are not examples the average woman doesn't wear a size 0 or size 2 try guessing around size 6-8. Those women however healthy they may or may not be are not good examples because girls grow up trying to look like them, and not accepting their beauty.

They do nothing but HARM children. My oldest fought with that sterotypical look because she wanted to model. Thank god for companies like Lane Bryant, Torid etc. that cater to the larger sized. No matter what we told her or her friends she felt she HAD to look like that in order to model.
Just the other day I heard one of the "big" designers say "I need my models thin or my clothes won't look good." Well who the he** does he think is going to buy them in the first place....normal sized women for crying out loud. sigh.....

Omg i accept as true with you completely. This society is so twisted up, interest is delivered to this situation, yet by way of fact there is plenty funds invested in the type industry they % to ignore relating to the worry they are inflicting with a view to have what they have self assurance will make extra funds. I advise maximum designers will hire relatively horribly skinny fashions by way of fact they have self assurance that all of us is plenty greater probable to pay interest on commercials or campaigns that have greater 'idealistic' bodies. Its so terrible. I heard somebody say a whilst in the past that the explanation fashions are so skinny and uncurvy is by way of fact maximum designers are gay and want dont want curvy fashions who easily look like females considering the undeniable fact that's what they are greater attracted too. i don't comprehend if thats authentic or not yet i definetly think of that we've become greater accepting that this 'unobtainable' physique known is established presently and theres not plenty we can do approximately it. Its unhappy yet i think of in spite of each thing that has been mentioned in this situation, we nonetheless have an identical stick skinny fashions, we nonetheless have each photograph photoshopped, i don't think of that we can relatively do plenty approximately this and merely attempt to settle for ourselves and settle for others for who they are and not evaluate ourselves to fashions by way of fact its in order that unrealistic. Its provoking yet till the type and ask your self industry is waiting to easily have some compassion and humanity we are only going to could attempt and stay with it. i think of particularly some people such as you and me recognize that it is not organic or actual, that's surprisingly outstanding. do not permit it get you down. i think of our standards of attractiveness will proceed to alter and in keeping with possibility sooner or later curvy eye-catching females would be seen as they appropriate bodies to have returned. i'm hoping so besides. xx

Definitely not. While obesity is the widest (no pun intended) health problem in the US, anorexia is more dangerous, and the bad effects happen much more quickly. Besides: super-skinny is gross.

Absolutely not. They give everyone an unrealistic, and none too attractive, expectation of beauty. Young girls should be taught that it's not weight that makes them beautiful or ugly.
