(especially men over 50 years) can you give me concrete examples and specific advice on how to build excellent communication (honest, open, free, empathic, trusting) for a romantic, online/phone relationship with a man that I will meet in the future.

Thanks to all who help me with this question.

ok i guess that everyone has the right to chose freely. but modern culture is in my view smashing the female and the male character. A real man must harass woman ! it is funny and she feels pretty ! (i am not talking about irrespect or without class jokes !). A real man feels well when he is leading the couple, bringing safety to his woman. Making love like a dominant male in bed. Listening to here complaints on anything. Always suportin here. And taking care of here. ??? Should we be EQUAL ? let the woman be "weak" and "charming" !! i am a male and see it like this. What is your view Folks

I have heard that for example as a sports massage therapist, some people can drain your energy and there is a way to block off anyone draining your energy.

I know someone who does seem to drain my energy when we speak. How do I block this when we speak?

You mourn someone close...someone you know and will miss eternally...right? You pay your respects to those that you didn't know well, someone you know the parents of...you pay your respects to someone you were aware of but didnt actually know as such. So if you're crying your either crying due to the emotional strain of the situation...because you know the persons relatives....because you see others crying....essentially your not crying for them....thus you're not mourning you're paying your respects right?

anyone else have trouble leaving the house sometimes and going out after being inside for a long time? i sometimes spend long periods of time in my apartment, sitting in front of the computer or tv. when i finally go out i get really nervous and self-conscious for some reason to the point where its hard to walk normally for some reason. but this only occurs after ive stayed inside for over 24 hours or if i havent gone to too many places in a while. theres a store right across the street that i can walk to, no big deal, but when i go to farther places then its a problem, and this nervousness only lasts a few hours, after that im fine. strange. anyone know anything about this?

Why is that everytime you have the unfortunate luck of "having" to attend friend/family funeral....there are always a few people that didn't even know the deceased, but yet, cry more than those that were intimately close to them???? I don't get it...when you don't know someone you pay your respects right? When you knew them well...you mourn. You mourn the person and what they represent right? You're mourning essentially what you miss of them...i guess. So why are people so readily available to jump on the mourners bandwagon...and cry and scream...when they didn't even know them? People always do that....ALWAYS!!! It almost gives them an excuse for people to feel sorry for them.

Do you think your appearance, which is still sort of 'exotic' here in the States (except in big cities) gives you any advantage over white chicks or other minorities? Do guys give you an extra look because you're 'different'. Do people think you must be smart/good at math/martial arts, that kind of thing? Or maybe the opposite, they talk down to you, think you don't know good english, other girls are jealous, etc. Do men expect you to be quiet and docile/subservient? Always been curious...

i mean really really can`t stand them... they make me twitch and feel like vomitting! tone of their voice - everything. i know that i should rise above it, and logically take the stance that everyone`s different and that`s what makes the world a great place.... but there is no logic in this. even though i avoid, there are many occasions where our paths cross and they always talk to me - now honestly, never mind bite my lip, i have to walk away.
now, do i tell this person that they do this to me, and why? or do i continue to stress myself out over it? anyone been there? any solutions? (i`m trying to avoid the violent - hence the question!).
no religious answers please, i`m interested in morals not religion!

My dear house mate has gotten herself a new man and continually has him around so that they can have loud sex in her room.
As i am a shy person i am reluctant to say anything to her but it is getting on my nerves. The other day she ripped one of my prized possessions from the wall and broke it without an apology, only an explanation which was something like, " i was in a bad mood".
My partner and i are very quiet and try to respect my house mate by not touching her posessions or being loud in general.
My partner is now reluctant to come over and i am becoming very unhappy. Any advice or ideas on how to deal with this misery machine is appreciated.

When criticised at all I am overly sensitive and take it too personally, I often respond resentfully or aggressively or just bottle up how I feel.

How can I cope better with criticism?

Ok, let's just see how many phrases which are used in every day language we can find that illustrates that it is society that is doing that shall we? these are used daily and affect us all deep within out psychy. Children use them every day and actually most people do not realise the significance, but it is hugely significant to how man behave toward women, woman behave toward men and even why woman sometimes feel "insignificant"
These phrases are used as derogatory term, mostly said in jest, but doesn't lessen the damage done to gender perception.

"You throw like a girl"
"Don't be such a big girls blouse"
"they are acting like a bunch of women"
we tease out son's by saying "shal we get you a barbie doll for your birthday" (the ultimate humiliation)
"the venue, clothes, decorations etc, were too effeminate"
"he/she hasn't got the b@lls"

Yet the flip side is phrases encouraging masculine behaviour as being superiour
"he/she has b@lls"
"he/she wears the trousers"
