Well, they can be smart and ignorant in many ways. If they are "funny" but not in a mean, that is to say, cruel way, then they can't be all that mean. Perhaps you are taking too much personal as we all do far to often. Afterall, you are but one personality in the lives of others and believe me that you, like me, are not all that important that "friends and boyfriends" are targeting us because we have a target on our forehead. You will find that if you stop taking things personal you will be more pleasant and easy to be around. Smart and funny people are usually the ones everyone loves to be around. But "eveyone" can't get the opportunity often or else those people would be inundated with needy people wanting to bask in their light. So, go out there with a smile and a compliment when someone does or says something smart or funny and it will come back to you tenfold.

Let's see, they're ignorant but they're 'super smart'? Those seem to be somewhat contradictory.
However, if you keep finding mean boyfriends, I would say it's because of low self-esteem. They treat you the way that you subconsciously believe you should be treated.

Its not about what is lacking in you, it is more about what you are used to....take a look at the relationships you had growing up, this will give you a big CLUE as to why you pick the people you pick to hang around with or love....
