Our mind IS the source of our happiness and our suffering !!
The Dharma teaches humanity how to work with the mind and emotions effectively. How to subdue disturbing thoughts/emotions and how to enhance all the positive wholesome mental faculties, such as Patience, peace, gentleness, self-control, No Harm toward others, forgiveness, happiness, etc.
Each of us want to be happy and to do our best to avoid pain and suffering. Our mind - our thoughts, attitudes, intensions, views and emotions, are the primary factors contributing to our experiences of pain, suffering, and peace, happiness.
Working with Emotions: The Dharma teaches us so much concerning working successfully with our emotions. It teaches how the cultivation of Patience and loving-kindness opposses and erradicates anger; and wisdom demolishes
ignorance. It teaches insight which dispels pride; mindfulness meditation dispels anxiety and depression;meditating on compassion counter-acts a poor self-esteem.READtheDharma!

Taking an exam for this in an hour...just confused as to why you would pick 2400 in this case because it gives you $0. I know in a monopoly you'd pick the thing that makes the highest profit...but why would you pick something with no return?

Quantity Price Profit
0 36 0
200 33 6,600
...
1000 21 21,000
1200 18 21,600
1400 15 21,000
...
2200 3 6,600
2400 0 0

Perfect competition - you pick 2400. Why?

If you imagine the colour red, you know what it looks like. Now imagine the colour blue.

I often wonder if maybe some of us see the colour BLUE when we think RED, and the colour RED when we think BLUE.

Cause there would be no way of proving it. How can you describe a colour?

Im 6 foot 6 inches / 198cm. I have a friend whos 4 foot 11 inch. She thinks it better to be tall cos you have more presence, I say that there are times you dont want to be noticed and stand out. Its better to be short for plane seats, its better to be tall for painting.
Whats your opinion?

I'm a shy, sensitive and quiet person who doesn't like receiving a lot of attention. Sometimes, though, people will make lighthearted comments about something I've done or said and will sort of playfully poke fun of it or make a lightearted sarcastic comment about it. Normally, I get very shy about it, especially when I'm with a large group, and I will just avoid eye contact and smile a lot. I've been told by family members that I'm easy to make fun of and that it's easy to play on my emotions.

It's not that my feelings are hurt by these actions (though I do tend to get sensitive towards a few things) and I know that people are not trying to upset me.

So I'm just wondering why people like to playfully tease quiet, sensitive and fairly shy individuals? What makes them SO easy to tease? Do others find it endearing or is it something else?

I have a fear of vomit.
Not of vomiting, just vomit.

Vomiting doesn't really scare me very much.
But other peoples' vomit scares me.

Like, for instance, I refuse to go to amusement parks. There's just too much risk. If you go on a ride, even a not very rigorous ride, there's always the chance that the person behind you just ate a corndog, then went on a big rollercoaster, and is going to vomit on the back of your head.
Even if you don't ride anything at all, what if there's vomit on the ground?

Just thinking about it makes me shudder.
Any thoughts on this, and what can I do to overcome it?

Why would you pick that method? Which is the most sureproof? For example, a "shotgun to the head" might result in blowing off your face, instead, but surviving. I am not suicidal, I am just morbid like that.
