Tall or Short? Pro's and Cons?

Question

Im 6 foot 6 inches / 198cm. I have a friend whos 4 foot 11 inch. She thinks it better to be tall cos you have more presence, I say that there are times you dont want to be noticed and stand out. Its better to be short for plane seats, its better to be tall for painting.
Whats your opinion?

well I'm very tall, well not compared to you lol, but especially compared to most girls (I'm just over 6ft). I find many more disadvantages than advantage but i shall try to list some of both that i have experienced lol

Advantages:

you can see over things
you can reach things high up
good for some sports (I play netball)

Disadvantages:

Its hard to find clothes that fit properly
i feel like a freak/unfeminine
people are intimidated by me
it puts men off, they like to be taller than their gf's
people take the piss
there is a lack of leg room on planes, on trains, in theatres, etc
i miss out on all the nicest shoes cos they have high heels
i hit my head on stuff

overall all i would rather be shorter, though not short, if you get me lol

Tall (Con) People make fun of you Tall (Pro) You can always look at people and say It's not my fault your mommy and your daddy didn't strech you. Short: (Con) You can't go on two many rides and people will call you small Etc. Short (Pro) You can always say your younger than what you really are.

I've always been attracted to tall guys but I've known some mighty fine short ones too. I am 5'2". In a way I'd like to be a little taller. Too many people think that if you are a sm, short blond (natural), southern raised female, that you're too dumb to be taken seriously. They also seem to think that it's o.k. to make nasty remarks about you in public ("can't you even take a joke..geez")Of course, I'm sure that people make jokes if you're very tall also. I decided long ago not to let someone else decide how I'm going to feel. I hold my head high, look people square in the eye & take every advantage I can get. I live the best kind of life I know how. If others have a problem with it, then it is just that. Their problem.

Depends on your sex...

With the extremities, it is far better to be a small female and a tall male..

Being a SMALL male can be emasculating, where as being a TALL male, can enhance attractiveness, success, general presence, and authority... not to mention the strength aspect.

Being a SMALL female is feminine, dainty, and means that she is likely to be smaller than her partner, which is the accepted way round... conversely, being a TALL female can be masculine, obvious, and makes buying shoes and jeans a nightmare!

It's sex dependent, i think... there are pro's and con's to both, but generall speaking, for a man if you're going to be either really tall or really short... go for tall, and the opposite for a woman.

Personally I think people are rarely happy with what they've got! if u are short, you want to be tall, if you are tall you want to be short., I'm 5ft 1 and dnt mind being short. it means that blokes are always taller than me which is good, and besides, us shorties can just stand on something if we need to reach high up. We get to wear fabulous high shoes, have plenty of leg room- I recently slept very comfortably on a flight to Greece slumped half down in my seat! I can sleep in my bed without getting cold feet or banging my head on the wall, -im definately in favour of being short! the only time its better to be tall is if your a bit overweight coz the taller u are, the more you should weigh!

Being tall isn't that bad. Being short is a little sad but if you think about it it really isn't too bad being tall or short. Although, you will feel different you will overcome this. My opinion is just try to enjoy your life and not worry about your height. So just stop worrying and have a Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am 5-11" and that's not too tall, but not too short either. I feel both of you would love to come down at this height.

It's basically psychological. We all wish to hug the average height- because it multiplies your chances of finding a mate - I am not saying that a short person cannot date a person taller than him/her and a tall person date a person much shorter, but society thinks that way, sadly. But, there are many progressive people like me who don't give much importance to height.

It's better for a man to be tall, no question. For a woman, it's more complicated.

I am a tall female, my friend is a short female.

Me: people take me more seriously, I have more authority, men find my height a little intimidating and men rarely treat me protectively. People usually assume that I am perfectly cabable of opening my own doors, carrying my own luggage etc. I have issues with shoe size and heels. It is easy for me to pull off sophisticated but hard to pull off cute.

Her: it is hard for people to take her seriously, or for her to take authority in a group. Men assume that she is very feminine and always treat her protectively. She hasn't carried her own luggage in years, never has to open a door, and often finds herself being treated as 'fragile'. She has an amazing shoe collection but wears so many heels that her tendons are shrinking and spends a lot of time taking up hems. She does cute well but that kind of sucks because she is a very sophisticated person.

For guys, height = more respect, better pay.

I am 6ft.8" 320lbs and have 16eee feet. I am very glad to be the way I am.all my people are large tall people.I joke about my being a Yeti.My brother told me that its proven that large tall people make more money on the average then shorter people.when you know were your going people usually get out of the way.I hope Y'all have a very Merry Christmas.Ow I like any size people.My first wife was 6ft.my next wife was 5ft 4". God and nature made us the way we are and we shouldnt question it.

Tall PROS:
I'm 5 foot 6 inches, which I think is just fine, but also being tall makes you look thinner and leaner. Plus: most runway models are taller!!!
CONS:
Yah, you sometimes dont want to stand out that much. BUT- I just thought of another one! Taller people are prettier!

JUST KIDDING!
We arnt prettier, just people tend to look at our faces more often, which I guess makes people think we are prettier. I DUNNO!
