hi all
I'm a muslim girl and in my religion there is many rights for the women . So it is false what many of you said. The woman is very precious in islam . I'm a muslim and proud of being a muslim because it gives me many rights . Islam doesn't forbid for the woman to be a leader as many think . Islam in theory, has given men and women equal rights in every aspects of life. Islam gives men and women equality in the idea of Creation of human beings
for exemple : Islamic Law forbids the marriage of a woman by force. The girl's and the boy's consent is necessary. Although the parents play a major role in deciding a girl's or a boy's choice of mates, the final decision is up to the girl and the boy
Islam has given women the rights to work, to own property and to have wealth. Women can seek employment and work in profession such as medical care, teaching, civil and justice professions. These rights remains the same before and after marriage.
Islam give women the right to inheritance. Neither her father nor her husband can lay any claim to her share of inheritance

You really should have done your homework on time!
But here's some help: Islam has not affected women the same everywhere. It depends on the culture and country that you're talking about. Anybody who comes on here and gives you one answer for how Islam has affected women's rights everywhere is just wrong.
So, pick a country and look up some books that deal with Islam and women in that particular country. Then you can pull a bunch of sources up in ten minutes from the Internet.

Mohamed originally increased the rights of women which were at the time nonexistent. He provided guidelines to marriage and also to inheritance. Women were finally given some rights in ways he was far more equalizing than Christianity. After the death of Jesus the Christ women became more and more marginalized in the religion until they completely lost their voice and their rights.

I´m reading a book for an university exam, so I think I can help you
The problem of islam is that as the coran has been given to mahoma(mahoma hasn´t created it) and this was in the seven century, nowadays there are some modern aspects not included in the corán, and they can set the law, rules, rights in any country almost as they want it, I mean like with cars.
In some countries the women cant drive cars they must go with the chauffeur so that the husband will controle them.
But it´s not just problem of modern culture, there many things written in the corán that they all respect as dressing, polygamy,,,
