That is one of my answers to many of them. Why do you care what someone says? I believe what I believe and certainly no one on here will change my mind by being rude or calling me names. The Internet has always been fun for me. Too many people take it as life or death. Thank you for saying this.
This is funny. Josh, extremely smart? Cause is not a word and the word is site, not sight. FUN huh?

Just because a person fills some idle time by answering some questions, it doesn't necessarily mean that person gives a hoot about some "offensive" question. They entertain themselves by writing their question. I entertain myself by sending them my answer. I don't think people really care. People go out to parties or bars and debate stuff and have a good time doing it. Sometimes what appears to be taking something seriously just isn't. Its also good exercise for someone who may want to keep up with being able to write about any subject on demand.
There are, though, some serious questions. I figure the people who post them have some problem and figure they'll give this site a shot and see if they get anything useful. I do take those questions seriously because I think if someone asks a serious question they deserve better than some "wise" joke answer.
There is one other point, though: It is the Internet, and as we all know, there is a lot of garbage on the Internet. Sometimes - when I'm just looking for a challenge and tackle some ignorant, hateful, question - I do think, "Hey. Why not contribute something that isn't ignorant and hateful?"
Reasonable, decent, people tend to have one fault; and that is they tend to go about their business and - appropriately - figure it doesn't matter what someone writes or says. The problem is that because reasonable people can be so silent so often sometimes all we get back - from the Internet, from television, from wherever - is the voice of the ignorant and hateful. I honestly don't see the Internet as "life or death", but at the same time I'm sick of seeing (on places like this site) such a lopsided situation when it comes to sensible/reasonable versus stupid/hateful ideas.
I don't take it seriously on the one hand; but on the other hand, what's it to anyone if I feel like offering some ideas that I think are fairly reasonable. Its kind of fun to think how if everyone reasonable and sensible offered their opinions sites like this one would have a better balance of jokes, hate, and substance.

I think most of us don't care what others say on the internet unless it something that corresponds, flatters, or backs up or beliefs. Then we feel justified in our judgements because we are "not alone" in our understanding of whatever the subject is.
Then there are those that do seem to care what is said on the internet and they probably have the same problems outside of the box. I imagine that those people that take it personally have some type of control issue that involves the inability to allow other people to say and think what they want when it does not correlate to the said individuals standards.

i'd guess anyone out of high school doesnt give a crap what anyone says on the internet, but for the younger ones it seems to be life or death. i have a younger brother whos 14, and it is his life. it is how all his friends communicate and if he cant talk to them online everday he has a fit. the internet is the new way to talk to all your friends, and to them it is the same thing as saying it to their face or on the phone. ridiculous i know, but thats how it is these days. they will learn eventually...

Honestly, i find that people online grow balls and say things that they would never say infront of someones face. It's just how imature people are- and if you're imature just like them, then you care, but if not, then really, who cares? It's all just text.

cause this is the way life goes...unfortunately we all care way too much about what others think and say...if we'd all not give a damn about it, or at least, care less, we'd all be happier and much more serene.
