Feminine women are attractive to men because that's what women were designed to be. Masculine women like Angelina Jolie in "Tomb Raider" may be exciting to watch, but that's as far as it goes. Some men will believe that she is hot because they've been lead to believe that sexual attraction is purely physical...which is complete nonsense. And submissiveness has been feminine since the design of the species, to answer that question.
The reason American women aren't submissive stems from a myriad of issues, but can be quite easily summed up in one word: Feminism.

Since when did Submissive=feminine?
Sounds like you have attributed a personality type to the word feminine and don't know what feminine actually means.
Feminine traits are caring, nurturing, sympathisers, empathisers, High language skills, receptivity, intuition etc.
Masculine traits are logic, agression, protector, strength, control.
None of these traits are mutually exclusive and each individual is made of up a mixture of ALL those traits, both masculine AND feminine, it's just that women tend to have more feminine and men tend to have more masculine.
WE are all individuals, and it's the whole concept that women should ONLY have the feminine traits and men ONLY the masculine that leads to sexist argument.
I am sure all woman in America have more feminine traits than masculine, it's just they don't fit in with your prejudiced view of what femininity is.
The reason that many indian or japanese women are percieved as being submissive is a learned response. Their society beleives that no woman should have ANY masculine traits at all, so that side of her personality is suppressed. They are not real personalities, do you really find that attractive? Obviously this is a minority situation these days, but it is still a percieved culture that indian and japanese woman are more submissive. Even though that is rarely the case nowadays.

I've been accused of being too damned submissive.
I'm American.
I believe when you say submissive you mean obedient.
The one thing I hate is when people think the two are the same, there is a fine thread between them - they are not the same.
Now we are in my territory and I am obedient, but I am not submissive.
The reason why is because I am more than willing to do as I am told without getting the crap kicked out of me first then afterwards I decide I'd better do what I am told to do or else.
I am obedient because I do not make deals.
I am obedient because I do not choose what I want to be told to do.
I am obedient because I never ask why.
I will speak my mind when need be, usually it has nothing to do with what I am told to do.
My relegion (Muslim) has nothing to do with why I am obedient; I just am and always have been.
My mother certainly wasn't that way and neither are any of my sisters.
Just me in my family.
Do I do it to make a man love me? No that is only fakery, most American men have a hard time with that concept.
People have tried changing me by playing cruel games, and it hadn't diverted me at all.
As for feminity I am that all the way and I do not believe in woman's rights, except that we be treated like ladies; otherwise it's a bunch of posh.
A woman should embrace her femenine side it is her ally, her tool and her weapon. Women would be wise to learn how to use it effectively.

There are plenty of feminine women in the U.S. All you probably see are the flashy and glamorous movie stars. Thats not how we are in real life. Submissive is not a word to describe a woman and it never should be. To be "submissive" is to easily submit. I've never been like that because its not who I am. Despite if I was born Chinese or Indian, I would be the opposite of submissive. I would never bow down to man on the mere fact that he is a man. Honey, I'm a female, that makes us even.
Just because American women aren't submissive doesn't mean we aren't sexy. In fact I think its the exact opposite. A lot of my female friends will go out and pursue the guy rather than sit down and hope for a guy to pursue them. Than there are my other friends who are less bold and brazen and might pursue a guy but are still pursued, yet they never would be considered submissive.
Before you generalize American women, I suggest you come up with better adjectives to describe us and compare us to.

Let me tell you something that you might not be aware of. Japanese women and Indian women may show all the signs of being submissive, but they secretely hate it, and are more vindictive when it comes to getting back at their spouses. Do not think for a moment that any woman respects a man who does not respect her.

Submissive to you obviously means one thing and to me means another. Submissive to me is to submit to your spouse in my case husband, and he submits to me none is higher than the other. As far as feminine I consider myself to be feminine. If you are talking about the lesbians than that is a totally different subject. Because really they are the only females that are most likely to be “masculine”. I know Japanese and Indian women and most are like “robots” that don’t have a mind of their own (they are programmed) and the ones that do are mostly scared to have an opinion and say it because of their culture.

Some are some aren't, and I know you didn't say otherwise outright, but no one has the right to say they can't be who they are.
