When criticised at all I am overly sensitive and take it too personally, I often respond resentfully or aggressively or just bottle up how I feel.

How can I cope better with criticism?

let's face it , nobody likes to be criticised in any way . The natural reaction to this is to take it personally which , is wrong . I actually annalyse what was said to me to see if there is any truth in it . If there was any truth to it , I would do something about it to improve myself . If the criticism was totally unfounded , I would just ignore it (water off a ducks back) . It's pointless getting involved in any argument which could potentially become "ugly" . It is difficult but always try to use the criticism to your advantage .

You really shouldnt give a damn about what other people say!
The next time someone says anthing to you just look them in the eye and picture them as an ant, a tiny little ant, which you can just squash....that outta help you.

Positively.
Think back on the criticism and see if there is anything that you can do to improve yourself / learn from the critic?
If so, concentrate on doing better. If not, just discard the critic as bad news.
You got to lead your own life man and we have enough tension already - so why take things personally and increase the tension? Chill !

Try taking criticism as a positive thing. I mean there is always room for improvement, right ? Just try your best not to take it personally, and know that people don't say things to hurt you in any way.

Take it with a grain of salt. First consider the source before deciding whether to use or discard the information.

you should feel sorry for the person who levels the criticism. Criticism is a fault you see in others that you dislike about yourself

If it's constructive, take it on board and maybe use it later to your advantage, if it's not, just accept it for what it is, an opinion.
opinions can kill you. Rise above it.
