My dream last night had my friend step out of the shadows, with cuts on his face, underneath his eyes running down his cheeks. It looked like he was crying tears of blood. What could this mean? Today, I saw pictures of children with the same cuts on their faces. What is this symbolic of? What is my subconsious trying to tell me?

Here is my theory: It is crucial to vent feelings and emotions, and since men are taught not to cry or express their feelings, maybe the inability to express repressed anger, insecurities, etc. builds up so much that it seeks a way out through harmful actions...what do you think, is there any truth to this theory?

I'm having some problems coming to terms with humanity in general, especially the moral character of the majority of fellow Americans out there, and the media's portrayals and all that. It seems like our society equates fulfillment, and true love with sex. I do not agree with this. I'm age 19, who grew up in elementary/middle school a bit sheltered, but since then, I've attended normal high school and am in my second year of university schooling.

I'm finding that I'm harboring very angry and somewhat self-righteous feelings against promiscuous people -- as if I'm better than them (who refuses to have sex until marriage). I'm angry at society which does not recognize platonic love, but sexual love in everything... Which is where I believe many homosexuals get their sexuality confused, but that's my opinion. They're feeling platonic love, not sexual love, but it's confusing.

How do you suggest I work through these feelings?

What would you do or should you do or suggest if....

You had a forbidden attraction towards someone not of your taste, too old for you, unethically unethical because he/she is your instructor or boss or co-worker? And even married?

It all started when he visually lusted after you, thinking you'd not notice but oh yeah you did, you are like an owl, you notice even the most subtle things.

You find yourself attracted to that person and always thinking about him/her you want to stop, you killed off the forbidden feelings, you even dreamed about him/her but not anymore(it was a forbidden dream).

You admire him/her respect him/her and love their smile and personality because both of you have platonic chemistry and experienced forbidden sexual tension.

What to do? Avoid him forever until this prob of yours is gone?

Ok side note, I don't mean obsession or stalking ok?

I am writing a paper on the cultural and psychological influences of media on our perceptions of race and gender. I know that African Americans have relatively poor representation on television and in the movies. (Not every movie but many that I have seen) They play "coonish" stereotypical comedic characters and etc.

African American "gangsta rap music" has further added to the problem by poorly representing the African American community sluts, rapist, urban psycho-killers, jail birds, misfits and deviants. The random acts of violence on the news continues dig an even bigger hole.

The ave African American I know; 30+ are as clueless about rap music as an opera singer in Italy. The reality of African American culture does not seem to quiet live up to or rather "down to" what I see on t.v.

MY QUESTION FOR YOU!!!!
1. Do African Americans have an "image problem" in your country. (Are they viewed negatively?)

2. If so, how are they viewed? What are those stereotypes?

Ok. This might sound weird, but I would really like to control my dreams. They say that dreams happen because of stray thoughts in your mind. I am obsessed over Phantom of the Opera...I think about it every day and I have NEVER dreamed about it, that I can remember, in 15 years! I want to remember those dreams!
