Are there practice guidelines that, if violated in the workplace, can result in loss of social work licensure? Eg. Suppose a workplace reduces the ability of a social worker to meet the needs of his or her client/patient. Is there a point at which this becomes a violation of social work standards?

I don't have any friends...by choice. Everytime I am with 'friends' i feel like I am there b/c it'd be wired not to have friends. So now things are the way i want... I like my own company. But I can't make a decent converstation with anyone. There are places, like at work, or with in-laws where one needs to be talkative, make a decent conversation instead of being quiet. But I get so nervous. I feel that I need to say something intelligent so co-workers and in-laws would think I am good enough. My fiance has a great talent of being natural with strangers but I honestly can't be natural. Senior yr high school (3 yrs ago) got me depressed b/c i was lonely and ppl were just brutal. Ever since then I feel that ppl will think I am strange that I am a loner and that makes me nervous about opening up- talking freely. How do I get out of this? I know - don't worry about wat ppl think but that's what i need help with...how to not worry? Thanks to all who answer.

I heard somewhere that you shouldn't use the word "you" a lot in conversations...that it's accusatory or something? Are there other words, phrases, even body language like this?

Lots of questions here about how to reduce the gap between rich and poor -- so let me ask. Just exactly what IS the correct gap between rich and poor? I must have been asleep in school when they taught us the correct, proper gap size between rich and poor. Please cite how you know the answer.

How much aid has been given by developed nations, charities, and celebrities? Has it had any effect? I've heard that economically speaking, Africa was better under colonization, that it was once self sufficient in food production, and now is a net importer. What can be done to help Africa and how much should be done by Africans?

Sometimes I fear having kids because I'm afraid I will lose the intimate bond that my husband and i will share. Is this true? Am I supposed to be worried? I've always wanted to love my husband forever, but the thought of having kids kindof scares me because we will be less focussed on each other and possibly never sexually active again...What are the benefits?

I want to compare people's self recollection of their attractiveness when they were younger (i.e. high school or junior high) to what others say... and look at current self esteem & the disparity between reality & their own self perception (and understand why a disparity exists). However, I'd need to get people with LOW self esteem (and who maybe aren't so attractive) to give me pics of themselves from junior high and high school...to be rated anonymously by college students.

Many many many experiments on facial attractiveness do this, but very few ask for photos of when you were younger... and I think that's going to be an issue for me. I posted a question about a different experiment that I might do - and the point of these questions is just that I am dont want to go through the whole proposal / approval process if I am not even going to be able to execute the experiment. Would you give me a pic of yourself from age 12-18?

trips. it was not always like this. after about 5 years everytime i tried it, the last times i tried it, i would feel like i was going completly nuts. is there anyway to get over the paranoia and bad feeling? for those who dislike smoking weed or the weed smokers, i dont care too much for your opinions. I support the decriminalization of marijuana among responsible adult users in the USA. (“Decriminalization” does not mean unfettered use -- it simply means NOT mandating that use is a criminally punishable offense.) I do NOT support the legalization of hard drugs.
Like most of Europe, I believe marijuana is a soft drug (like alcohol and tobacco), not a hard drug. Like alcohol and tobacco, there is no reason why it shouldn’t be taxed and regulated. Crime should only enter the equation if it is abused to the point where innocent people are harmed. I do not support children using marijuana (or alcohol or tobacco).

Anyone have any idea of what it means to dream of either the death of your mother or for your mother to be dead in your dreams. This is a recurrent one whereby my mother would either die or be dead within my dreams... or that she would be suffering from a psychological disorder like dimensia or Alzheimer's. I would be the one to take the blame for it from other family members.

Any ideas? Kind of important...
