I have had this dream so many times. Does it mean I want attention of some kind? I am in Parliament Square and there are lots of people there wearing dark clothing and there seems to be some sort of tension but I dont know what. Everyone seems to be looking to go somewhere safe and I am standing in white clothes (I think its a jacket ...but its winter apparrel) and someone is telling me to go to my office which is supposed to be round the corner and I am saying "I know its round the corner but I dont know how to get there" I did work in a Government building when I was very very young and I cantunderstand why I keep going to that area in my dreams.

I feel icky; I told my college aged nephew some of the not so nice background of our childhood--he wondered why his dad (my brother) was so unloving, demanding, distant, grumpy.

Relating to some previous secret he'd found out last month, his words were "how come I'm not told the truth--I find out about this or that." Not knowing what THOSE details were, I explained some of the rigid punishments we'd grown up with--the expectations of our folks (and thus how those expectations become grimly ensconced in our actions--either to overcome, to color our judgement, to color our actions)...

Why someone does the things they do sometimes needs explanation. (How come Dad can be happy and carefree with coworkers, but have such a critical nature at home..I tell him I don't live with his rules. That's a brave nephew.)

I wish I'd not said all I'd told him. But I nonetheless held back facts.
Is family history something you shouldn't start to discuss at all?
When do you tell someone???

correct me if i'm wrong, why is it that korean movies glamorize drunkenness as normal and even romantic. (for both guys and girls)

eg. sassy girl, he is(was?) cool, dr gang, my tutor friend and a whole lot of other shows. the reason i watched so many korean movies? i'm considered half korean.

the girl will become dead drunk and start a 'touching' soul baring monologue or conversation about her loved ones.... or the guy will bare his soul and confess his love (he would otherwise not have the courage to do) to the girl.

Becoming dead drunk is not the solution to anything. Young people will be lapping all these up and it wont be confined to korean youths (not that they dont have other influences). Korean movies are popular in other asian countries too. They will think being drunk is normal, cool, cute and romantic.

That's definitely not a good value to consistently drum into a viewer's mind.

This is for one of my psychology class, I wanted to know how people felt about sexual predators towards children. There opinion on what the sexual predator is thinking as well as if you were a parent what would be you initial reaction and if say your kid fell victim what would you do about it. This topic is a very disturbing one, and I know allot of people may feel this is a joke but its not. Ive gathered about 20 re actions and feelings from adults that I know and also, what do you think we can do to bring this big problem down. thank you everyone for your time.

Problems arise all the time in our lives, but what do you do when you have a real stressful problem? Are you compelled to talk to someone, or do you hold it in until you get the answer yourself?
Who gives you comfort and why, when you are troubled. Isnt it a better feeling when you get it off your chest? Or is it better for you to hold it in until you resolve it within your own realm and remedies?

I've been stressed out lately, I've had no social life with my friends or my family in 4 months, Isolated trying to finish college... don't worry I'm not a suicidal person, it's common that people tend to think that anyone that Isolates themselves are going to go bananas and hang themselves, but that's not always the case, it isn't the way I'm wired to take my own life. I'm just wondering what are some really good tips for handling stress.. I've tried walking, that didn't work, exercising... that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

i've heard it said that hypocrisy is average, that hypocrisy is an ok trait to have. but is that really true? is hypocrisy and everyday thing that is now found to be acceptable? or has the human race merely become accustomed to it?

lately i feel like all i am is hypocritical. how true can that really be, though, if hypocrisy is average?

Okay first, I have something to share with all of you. I have been reading ever since the first grade, I'm really into a lot of books, and I'm pretty fast at reading, but something just hit me today, that my conscience was telling me that I needed to slow down and not read to fast, and today I'm going to make the transition to become a slow reader forever... I know some people get so bogged down of their reading speeds and see all these commercial advertisements on TV and the Internet of how glorious speed reading is, and how it's better than snail reading, but why do some of you worry too much about it? Why can't some of you accept the cards that were dealt for you? Isn't better to read a novel at a slower pace than pressing fast forward on the speed reading button? Well, that's up to you to decide, but learn at your own pace I say, and take your time.

So any of you prefer slow reading or speed reading? Any switches between slow reading to speed reading or vice versa?

The Quran writes the following on this topic:

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them (4:34).

Women's testimony is equal to half that of a man:
Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her (2:282).

Polygyny, and sex with slave and captive women:
"If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, (4:3).

How come I can't just have a normal life. My mom is always up my *** crack and this asshole she calls a bf all up hers. I serioudly wish he were dead!!! He needs to stay the hell out of my life. He's not and will never be my dad, and it's too late for me to have a father. idk what's up iwth me I think that I'm bipolar, I act normal around my friends and totaly different around my mom. Idk why I act like this I'm just scared that I might be crazy. Deep down I secretly feel betrayed. I gave my mom an ultimatium about him and she chose him. She said that I'm f'n crazy and that I need to see a counselor. Maybe I do need a counselor but this totally scared me. My dad left me when I was 13, and I think that I seriously suffer from anger management. I might be a pathological lier but I'm really scared. I just really wish I had a dad. Any advice??? Am I really crazy???
