Okay first, I have something to share with all of you. I have been reading ever since the first grade, I'm really into a lot of books, and I'm pretty fast at reading, but something just hit me today, that my conscience was telling me that I needed to slow down and not read to fast, and today I'm going to make the transition to become a slow reader forever... I know some people get so bogged down of their reading speeds and see all these commercial advertisements on TV and the Internet of how glorious speed reading is, and how it's better than snail reading, but why do some of you worry too much about it? Why can't some of you accept the cards that were dealt for you? Isn't better to read a novel at a slower pace than pressing fast forward on the speed reading button? Well, that's up to you to decide, but learn at your own pace I say, and take your time.

So any of you prefer slow reading or speed reading? Any switches between slow reading to speed reading or vice versa?

Well it depends on what and why a I am reading something. If I am reading for my own enjoyment then I prefer to read at a slower pace so I get the entire mental picture of character, mood, setting, etc... If I am reading my kids school news letter I scan through it looking for highlights not really retaining a word of it. If I am reading something for work or study (depending on importance for detail) I tend to speed read. Slowing to a medium pace so I may Retain important points and what applies to me or my goal.

For text books speed reading is good because you can always go back over the book and slow read the relevant parts to your studies.

For fiction I prefer to slow read otherwise you might as well watch the movies which miss the best part of a book.

it somewhat is ultimate to take a classification or (sarcastically) study a e book on speed examining, yet a pair uncomplicated techniques are: one million) study the financial disaster titles and common/final sentences of paragraphs for a known assessment of the textual content fabric. 2) use a bookmark or your arms to isolate one line of textual content fabric at a time; right now take interior the 1st few words of the line of textual content fabric, then the previous few words of the line of textual content fabric; flow directly to the subsequent line. The greater you do this, the speedier you will get and the greater you will hold.
