correct me if i'm wrong, why is it that korean movies glamorize drunkenness as normal and even romantic. (for both guys and girls)

eg. sassy girl, he is(was?) cool, dr gang, my tutor friend and a whole lot of other shows. the reason i watched so many korean movies? i'm considered half korean.

the girl will become dead drunk and start a 'touching' soul baring monologue or conversation about her loved ones.... or the guy will bare his soul and confess his love (he would otherwise not have the courage to do) to the girl.

Becoming dead drunk is not the solution to anything. Young people will be lapping all these up and it wont be confined to korean youths (not that they dont have other influences). Korean movies are popular in other asian countries too. They will think being drunk is normal, cool, cute and romantic.

That's definitely not a good value to consistently drum into a viewer's mind.

Glad you mentioned it, and you're right, most series show the actors and actresses lose their inhibitions when they are drunk.
Hopefully, the new episodes will not repeat this otherwise the audience will be prepared, and every time the story line will take that turn, everyone will say- "Oh no not another drunk drama" LOL

Korean Movies do NOT glamorize drunkenness, it is just a way to attract people's attention of how an innocent person can turn bad from a "drink"
There are many stereotypes towards Koreans, that are not true. Koreans are very civilized, conservative, mostly Christian people, most South Koreans.
North Koreans, on the other hand, their recent leader, Kim IL Jung, is not doing a proper job of keeping his people together....The north Koreans are going out of control because of their leader, and imports/exports are not easily allowed in and out of North Korea, so people are starving to death and forced to "almost worship" Kim I

lL Jung. Drunkeness is just a trait of movies to attract watchers, because it is a common thing that young people do, and dramas highlight that in a movie to show how it can effect in a relationship.

Kind of shameful isn't it in fact you will find this in many different films from many different countries drugs and booze it seems to be a subconscious extension of mans old search for a universal love , truth , and beauty potion if people would just learn to look inside and treat others with respect as well as holding their own values in respect they might find they never needed to search in the first place
