Your friend from India could be at least partly Aryan. Ever since prehistoric times, Caucasoid (White) peoples, including Aryans, have been migrating around the world.

A certain type of flint point for arrows and spears originated with the Solutrean culture of northwest Europe at least 18,000 years ago, and it showed up in North America by 12,000 years ago. That could mean that Whites had arrived in the Western Hemisphere, perhaps by sailboat, even before the Amerinds crossed from Asia via the Bering Strait.

Anyway, the point I'm making is that the White race began to wander early, before the time covered by historical records.

One of the places the Aryans went to was the valley of the Indus River, where they built one of the three best known ancient civilizations. So it's possible that your friend is one of their descendants, more or less.

The Persians (or Iranians) are another group who are related to Europeans. They're "almost White" also. You'll find more almost-Whites in Afghanistan and Japan.

The Iroquois were a great Amerind tribe before they picked the wrong side during the American Revolution and were almost destroyed in the fighting. The odd thing about the Iroquois is that they, too, were part-Whites. They had in them both Asiatic-Yoyoi and Caucasoid genes, and the mixture might have happened over 10,000 years ago, while Whites and Reds were fighting over who would win the continent. (The Injuns won that time. The White race came back ten thousand years later and won the rematch engagement.)

It is believed by us Indians that the Caucasians had crossed the Himalayas and so maybe the North Indian people do come from that origin because earlier than that, the natives (no offence) of India were Dravidians so it is possible that North Indians are a cross between the Dravidians and the Caucasians. And about having Caucasian features, most people in India don't but it is seen that the Kashmiris and Indians living in Northernmost India may have caucasian features, I do too because I have coloured hair and eyes and I'd had them ever since I was born.

Anthropologists often associate regional affinities with racial differences. South Indian or "Dravidian" states usually have people with darker skin. People in the states of Eastern Kashmir, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and other Northeastern Indians states tend to look more East Asian. North India shows a stronger Aryan influence. Indeed, the languages of northern India are preponderantly Indo-Aryan, and it is in this region that Sanskrit and the various Prakrits are thought to have first found a home in India. Also, although skin colour in all parts of India varies by caste rather than region, it is generally speaking the case that inhabitants of the north Indian states have lighter skin than those of their caste counterparts in southern or eastern India. These phenotypic variations are indubitably due to the ingress, across many millennia and in every era, of Central Asian invaders (including "Indo-Greeks", "Indo-Parthians", Sakas, Kushanas, Hunas or Huns, and Turks) into the Indo-Gangetic

North India shows a fuller range of Caste (varna, literally:"colour") variation than does South India – there are proportionately more kshatriya and vaishya castes than is generally the case in most areas of South India.

In terms of religion, North India is generally speaking a stronghold of Vaishnava sects of Hinduism; Shaktism and Shaivism. North Indians generally believe in unity of God and that Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma constitute the trīmurtī, or trinity. Having been ruled for nearly eight centuries by Muslim invaders from Central Asia, North India is the main centre of Islam in India.

North India also forms the heartland of the so-called "Cow Belt" of India, which stretches from Indo-Gangetic Plain towards other conservative states like Gujarat, where BJP is particularly efficient in politics and has its traditional support base.
