There is really not to much that is normal today. We just all seem to do the same routine each day, and follow what others are doing. Things of this world have been changing so rampant.
Normal I guess is what you think is normal. I think that kids going to school daily is normal, or husbands going to work. Eating food and doing house chores is also the normal things in life.
But there are no families in this world that are truly normal. No famous celebrities families are normal. The fact that they are famous makes their life different then the most.
We can just live our lives the best way possible, and make it as normal as possible, or have a fulfilling life and be different.
I like different, and I like having God in my life. That part is normal for me.

On one extreme, the Moral Majority believes they know what is normal and what isn't and if you don't agree you will burn in hell for all of eternity.
On the other extreme, there are groups that will allow all people any favor to fit the bill.
My sister enjoys eating most vegetables, while I enjoy only a few select few of them.
My ex-husband finds adultery to be normal, I do not.
I am a devote Catholic, my best friend doesn't believe in any God.
Given this contrasting, yet limited, response to your question, IMO - what is acceptable for some, isn't for others. My sister isn't wrong or sinful for liking all those yucking vegetables that she savors. It's normal for her. The husband is an "ex" because I found adultery to be unacceptable. Is it normal? Well, for him if was, but not for me. Yet, I hold no ill towards him. When he dies will he rot in the fires of hell, like some self-righteous folks believe? I hope not. He is the father of my two sons.
What is normal for some isn't normal for others. It's in the manner in how we attempt to enforce those things that we find acceptable and normal that manners. Is it tempter with balance to allow others the right to hold their beliefs and doesn't hamper or impede the public good at the same time.
Good question. Ethical conduct and standards are usually arrived at based upon experience tempered with wisdom, hopefully.

Normal is a mathematical problem, a statistical problem. It does not address the issue of good or bad, just what happens most frequently. Normal may not be good. Abnormally high intelligence may be a lot better than abnormally low intelligence. Abnormally tall people get into professional basketball a lot easier than normal. Normal is in the numbers.

Normal is only an average of a diverse range of deviance.
If there is an average of 50 then most of us would be from 40 to 60.
Only extreme behaviours are considered abnormal within a group of people.

Nothing is normal.
And no-one is normal.
The only normal people and normal things are those you don't know.
