Im sure this is a stupid question, but is an atom indivisible? I thought that it could be split, thus causing an atom bomb, but I really am not sure...Thank you

Until I'm able to settle down in 18 months, I bought a Celestron NexStar 130mm (650mm FL) reflector telescope that is portable for drives in to the country. I want to pick up some new eyepieces and have absolutely no problem spending extra given that within two years I plan on investing in a much better (and less portable) device.

The Celestron website recommends I buy X-Cel series eyepieces for my current telescope, but they seem to put the eyepieces in rough price categories with parent scopes, and this method seems more of a money grab to me.

Basically, I would rather buy the best (for example) 8mm eyepiece I can, so I can use it with future telescopes, but just want to make sure that these better eyepieces won't cripple my current viewing.

From what I understand, a poor eyepiece will ruin a great telescope, and a great eyepiece will bring out the most of your scope, but is there really such a thing as simply 'too good' an eyepiece?

Thanks for any and all opinions!

Some people manage square root signs, powers and all sorts, while I struggle with ^2 and sqrt and log(base3).
Can anyone show me how to do it, please?

The resistance of these incandescent light bulbs was 8.90 ohms on the average (+/- 0.251 ohms if you want to split some hair):
a) How much current will the bulb consume on the average if I plug it in a 120 V circuit?
b) How much current will the bulb consume in a 12.0V circuit?
(Values are in RMS)
How do I do this problem?

Which would be better for improving the air quality in my room: an electronic air cleaner/filter/environizer/purifier/ , or a capable plant? Various manufacturers claim the air filters can greatly remove dust, pollen, pet dander, and so on. However, various botanists claim that the best plants can also purify the air quite well, while also providing extra oxygen when the plants are exposed to sunlight (and, also, that the oxygen plants consume when not photosynthesizing is relatively very little). I am interested in improving air quality in my room, and appreciate any input on what is best.

Note that I have no respiratory conditions, aside from mild seasonal allergies. The room size is roughly 10' by 17'. The room's double-window faces West, so sunlight shouldn't be a problem. If other details are required for this question, please let me know.

When you look at a bright light through a window (or lense), what causes that light to appear to give off a star-like glare?

I've been searching the internet for the answer, but I haven't found much because I am not quite sure what that phenomenon is called. And so far, all of the keywords I have tried using haven't provided much help.

The only thing I really know about it is that, in photography, if you take a picture of a bright light using a small aperture, you can capture this effect. However, I noticed that you can also observe this effect when looking at a bright light through a window (specifically a windshield).

I want to figure out how/why this happens because I am trying to work out an art project (involving glass panels) in which I may want to intentionally use this effect.

Any help would be appreciated. I think that perhaps microscopic imperfections in the glass may have something to do with it, but I am not sure.

Thanks!

I am in 8th grade. I want an interesting topic, but not something that has to do with animals or other dangerous things. The topic that interests me is about food, (maybe something about eggs and soda or something like that). Its not due until January, but I want to start early.
Happy Holidays! I will appreciate it if someone helped me. Thanks. =)
