Ok, when does a baby start growing for its size and not its age??? I had an ultrasound and the baby was 4 days younger than i thought. But i want to know if all babies are born different sizes when does that start?? With my first at 18weeks you couldnt tell i was pregnant i just looked like i had a big lunch and now i am 18 weeks with my 2nd and i looks like i have a basketball under my shirt. I am scared to death because my 1st was 8lbs 2 and had torticollis in her neck because she had no room. you could feel her heartbeating through my skin it was so tight. I am 159cm and 51kgs and scared my baby is going to be HUGE my mum had all 9 pounders and my partner is 61/2ft and 90kgs. So please can someone tell me when my baby will grow for his size???

Does anyone know how often women go into early labor versus late labor? Early as in 36-39 weeks and late as in 42 weeks? My son was a week late when I had him 10 years ago. But I am a little over 36 weeks now and feel like I could have this one sooner. Just wondering about everyone else's experiences. :) Thanks in advance.

I am 47 yrs old and had a tubal ligation 10 years ago. Recently I had an ultrasound done because last month's period was longer than normal. The ultrasound technician and radiologist said that it looked like I had a gestational sac in my uterus but no baby. I took a blood pregnancy test and it came out negative. The ultrasound and blood test was done before I missed a period. Anyway, what I want to know is...is there something else that can resemble/mimic a gestational sac but isn't a sac? Like a cyst or tumor? Or might I indeed be pregnant but just tested to early? I am confused. I do go in for a appt. in October but I am losing sleep over wondering what is going on and if I may be a mom again!

My whole left arm is completely numb. I am a teacher and it is to the point where I am having a hard time holding anything in that hand as well as typing. My doctor told me that this is pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome and told me that I need to see a neurologist. I wasn't having any pain initially, just complete numbness and tingling all the way up to my shoulder but now I am starting to have excrutiating pain. What can I do to try to relieve the pain? What do you think that the doctor can do?

Please help me... I hurt badly!

My due date is Oct. 2nd and I tested positive for GBS. My Dr says they don't induce until 41.5 weeks, which would be Oct. 14th. I am worried my water will break or I will go into labor before I will be able to get the antibiotics for the GBS. My next Dr.'s appt. is tomorrow--So I was wondering if I have the right insist on being induced on my due date and not a week and a half later???

I have been have a problem with my sugar levels. My doctor told me to monitor them until I go back and I am scheduled for the 3 hour gluecose test tomorrow. Sometimes about 1 1/2 hrs after eating I get really dizzy and weak and feel like I'm going to pass out. For a couple of days it was every time I ate. Now it does it occasionally. I have been keeping track og it and the dr says it shouldn't go above 120. Sometimes in the morning before I even eat or drink anything its already130. It has went up to 211 at its highest since I have been checking it. Some days it stays around 115 to 120 but other days its really bad. Is this gestational diabetes? I'm not really sure since its not all the time. I'm afraid that it won't show up in that test if i'm having a "good" day tomorrow.

I'm 38weeks and 4days pregnant. My mom said she had back labor with me (although that was 23 yrs ago so she doesn't exactly remember - she just knows she didn't feel a thing in her tummy or abdomen)...I'm trying to decide if what I'm feeling warrants a trip to the hospital or just a nice hot shower and a nap. (yes I know better safe than sorry - but I'm serious this is a borderline call here - for any of those who have been pregnant you know what I'm talking about...)

Currently my back hurts so much worse than it his throughout the pregnancy. The bulk of the pain is focused just above my tailbone. The pain can sometime radiate into my hips and thighs but not always or regularly. Sitting makes it ok, lying down makes it worse. Kneeling sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't. I have the occasional tightening of my tummy but it isn't regular nor painful. Baby is still moving occasionally. No abnormal leakage. Could this be back labor?

I have an almost 10 month old son. My period has not yet returned - which is the longest I have gone with any of my children. I have heard that a first period while breastfeeding can many times be anovulatory...just trying to get an idea as to my chances of getting pregnant.

after i had my son 4weeks ago and since i had him i had 2 infections one was in my womb n the other at lower area where i got stitches well i had pain for about 2weeks then it was gone n midwife says all was oks. then just this week any pressure put on my stomach for example when am holding son and he moves his feet it hurts really bad and am unable to walk fast or carry anything really heavy(heavier than my son) without it hurting me really bad should i be worried or is this normal?
i still do have some very light bleeding from when i gave birth to my son

My water broke when I was in the shower a few minutes ago. I was wondering how long until contractions start. Because isnt this the first step to labor? 40 wks w/ twins.

I found out I was pregnant on 2007/09/10. The doctor estimated me to be at 5 1/2 weeks and I was scheduled for an ultrasound on 2007/09/20. My hcg levels went from 200 (2007/09/10) to 600 (2007/09/12) to 1500 (2007/09/14). At my ultrasound they could only see the sac and something they called the "yolk". The ultrasound doctor came in and said it was either earlier in the pregnancy than the had originally thought or I was going to miscarry. So I called my OB/GYN and he sent me for some bloodwork that day (2007/09/20). The results for my hcg were 9500. I am still freaking out because for the last 2 weeks I have had cramping (mild) and some blood. I only noticed the blood twice when wiping, however when I check myself I notice a brown or pink tinged blood inside me. You may wonder why I am freaking out so bad, but I have already had a miscarriage and it effected my mental health greatly. Does anyone have some answers or stories that could ease my worries??? I would really appreciate it! My questions are: 1. What are normal hcg levels? 2. Is it normal to continuously have blood? 3. Is it normal to have bouts of mild cramping and then nothing?

We just found out that the heat exchanger on our hot air oil furnace is cracked, and that the only solution is to replace it. But of course my husband is too stubborn to replace it, and wants to run it til it dies completely. How can I make him understand that this is dangerous for us and our unborn baby? A very generous family member has even proposed giving us the money for the furnace, but this still will not change his mind. Why are men so darn stubborn!?

Hello everyone, Im kind of confused. Today I am 17 weeks pregnant, my only ultrasound was at 8 weeks, it showed one baby, since then all I have had is the sound of my babys heartbeat, the one my doc uses is a doppler but it doesnt show how fast the heart rate is, looks older. I bought my own 2007 model, expensive, I used it today and on my left side it showed 140bpm, normal, then i picked up something on my right side like 120something then i moved the probe to the middle of my stomach and got 229 and higher could i have picked up two heart rates, twins? my doc only listens to my baby for about 20 seconds, or is something wrong with my child?

I have never seen a celebrity who has had kids , even up to 5 kids with stretch marks. How is that possible ? i know that in magazines they use air- brushing and such , but what about on tv ( not movies ) surely make-up couldn't hide big pregnancy scars ( stretch marks). i'm very curious as to why they don't have stretch marks from pregnancy ...

I cannot believe the price for renting a fetal doppler now. I rented one three years ago and it was less than $15 a month. I got it from HearTones. Now that SAME exact model is $25 a month. Why would they need to raise prices $10 when I know it is the same one I rented three years ago? Does anyone know of a more reasonable price for a base model. I found one at Stork Radio for $20 a month. That is the best price I have found but I have a huge problem paying more for the same thing now.... sorry just ranting but wtf?
