glucose testing...?

Question

i have an appointment for 3pm tomorrow to do the glucose testing. could they give me an ultrasound then too??
i am 17 weeks or so...
my last ultrasound was when i was 10 weeks along.

I highly doubt they will do an ultrasound. The glucose test is just drinking the syrup, waiting an hour, and having your blood drawn. Unless you were scheduled for an ultrasound, I wouldn't expect one. I don't know why you are having a glucose test so early though, usually doctors wait until around 26 weeks.

I'm sure they would have told you when you made this appointment if you were getting an ultrasound also.
They didn't give me the glucose test until I was 28 weeks and I did have an ultrasound also, but just because at my 20 week ultrasound I had a low lying placenta, so they wanted to make sure that it had moved.
You will probably get your next ultrasound around 20 weeks to see if your having a girl or a boy, sometimes they can tell at 17 weeks.

You must be at a high risk for being diabetic when pregnant. I had my glucose tested at 18 wks, but I didn't have an ultrasound at the same time. I tested positive for the diabetes and was on insulin for the duration of my pregnancy ... it was NOT fun ... however, both baby and i are perfectly fine now!

your Dr will schedule your ultrasound soon, but they cannot do one that day just because you request it. The 2nd ultrasound is typically 18-22 weeks. Ask you Dr at your next appt.
