If the police find out your barely out of middle school daughter is having sex guess who goes to jail besides most likely the guy. Yes above all birth control is not a bad idea and so is educating them on the use of condoms but 14 is statutory rape in every single state and you not preventing it puts you at risk for misdemeanor charges including but not limited to contributing to the delinquancy of a minor as well as a distinct possiblity that social services will take your children away.

I think it's very responsible for a 14 year old to be on birth control if she is having sex and does not want a baby. At least she is trying to protect herself. Good for her!

If a 14 year old girl is sexually active, then birth control - in any form - is a necessity.

The most preferable BC would be a barrier method, such as a condom, to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Other methods, such as the Pill, are also beneficial, especially as a backup.

Schools shouldn't teach JUST abstinence only education. They should be teaching our youth alternative forms of birth control too.

Well,I have a child about to turn 3.It is a little scary but Id rather her be honest about wanting to be on birth control than to lie and wind up pregnant.I myself would take my child to planned parenthood and get her very well educated about all the horrible diseases out there that birth controls dont usually prevent!(I hope that will make everyone not married decide not to have sex yet)Its scary nowadys-I wish I was better educated when I was younger too!Good Luck:)

I would be very concerned about a 14 year old asking for birth control. Find out what else is going on in her life because she is way too young for sex.

if you are a parent and your 14 year old is coming to you asking to be on birth control, let them! she is openly admitting she is sexually active and you telling her she can't be on birth control is not going to stop her from having sex so you'd better be safe than sorry if you don't want her to end up prego!

Definitely! If she wants to be protected, than I think this is wonderful! At least she is able to talk to you, rather than leaving these things to the wind and ending up with a baby or an STD.

Short of locking her in her room 24/7, if she's asking for Birth Control- she'd better have access to it. To tell her "no"- is asking for trouble...
