Pregnancy - August 2007

My best friend is 35 weeks pregnant and has been having problems with her back when she went to the doc they prescribed her a pregnancy belt. Has anyone tried these? Did they work? Were they comfortable? I'm a mom of 3 but i have never heard of these we were just wondering if they really did work any help or comments on them would be greatful thanks in advance

So I had my last period July 12-18. And I had intercourse on July 20, 21, and 22. Then on August 10 I thought I started my period because there was some light bleeding. But my periods are usually heavy and last a whole week and this one was really light and only lasted for two days. Could I be spotting from being pregnant that long after intercourse?

In the Childbirth class the nurse said that the mom has to be naked during labor+delivery. But I feel uncomfortable. Is it possible to wear just a T-Shirt or something else which covers my top?

When we hit our 30th week of pregnancy, why do we have to go in every 2 weeks? It seems like such a waste of time. I went today for my appointment and they took my blood pressure, asked how I was feeling and I was out of there. If there were a problem I needed to discuss w/ them, I'd just call. And we know what signs to look out for if something is going wrong... So why drag myself in twice as much now if we do twice as much less as we used to in our appointments???

I'm straight, good looking, but just having a hard time with relationships. I'm picky and wouldn't want to get married to the wrong man, just cuz my biological clock is ticking. If I didn't settle down till later in life I wouldn't want to miss out on having a child.. This would all be contingent on the fact I would have enough money to take care of the child on my own.

Just wondering how many women out there would have a baby without a spouse?

I'm just wondering if it is possible that I could be losing my mucas plug?! I went in today for my weekly check-up, I'm 39 weeks and am dialated to 1 1/2cm. I've been home a few hours now but I noticed when I went to the bathroom that I have a lot of thick mucasy discharge. I'm not sure about the coloring though. It's reddish/pinkish/brownish/the clearish all in one? lol. Just wondering if the doctor's exam could have caused this?! And if so how long does it generally take to go into labor after I've lost it. I am sooo ready to have my daughter. My next appointement, I will be one day over-due if she is not here by then and the thought of having to go to another appointment is driving me nuts!!!

I'm so sick and tired of being pregnant. I'm so uncomfortable and so frustrated w/ EVERYTHING and in addition to that I've already gained 32 pounds so I feel like a walrus. I THOUGHT I was 34 weeks but today by chance they ended up saying I just entered my 33rd week and this whole time I've been under the impression that my due date was 1 week prior to what they're NOW saying it is. So not only am I due one week later than I though I was, who knows if I'll even deliver then or 2 weeks later since some people deliver late. I can't stand being pregnant anymore and I just want this to be over with. I hate the doctor right now but more so I hate being pregnant that much more. Is there any real advice out there becuase hearing "Aww, it'l be all worth it" just isn't comforting at all.

I had to go to labor and deliever the other night because my husban and I had sex and I guess sperm has a hormone in it to cause some women to contract. When they had me hooked to one of those contraction and baby heart beat monitors there was a number on the contraction side that was like 176 I was just wondering how high it went and if that was even bad contractions or not. I am planning on doing labor all natural and was wondering if that was like a number in how intense the contractions were!?

i like coming on here and asking and answering questions. I think that it is an excellent resource for women with questions about their pregnancies etc.. with that being said.. i have one question.. why do so many people come on here and ask if they, their friends, their cousins, brothers.. whatever, could be pregnant!?!? there are at least 5 of these asked every few mins, and it gets a little old.. NO ONE knows if someone is pregnant.. we are on the computer.. take a test!?!?! for someone that has asked this.. why? Why not just take a test?? Not trying to be mean, just asking for my own edification.. thanks!!

I have been feeling horrible the last week. I have light cramping every once in a while, headaches, im nausceous every morning. I have been getting dizzy and light headed, my lower stomach is bloated and hard. I have taken 2 tests and both are negative. I got my period this month and last month but neither was normal. Last month it was lighter then usual but still there and lasted 5 days. Thsi month it seemed normal and lasted 6 days. I want a baby more than anything could i really be pregnant? Has anyone gone through this?

I am 20 years old and have been on birth control for years (about 8 years). This past month my insurance was dropped and I didn't want to pay $40 for the meds - so I didn't. Well... here it is. I'm about two days late and I've ALWAYS been very regular. I am sexually active and haven't been using condoms ALL the time. The times we don't, however; he always pulls out. I know this isn't the most reliable form of birth control, but what are the chances? Should I be freaking out already?
I've always heard that when you are, you will know. Well, it wasn't an issue for me but my usually calm and collected boyfriend has been going crazy. He says he can just feel it. That for the past 5-6 days he feels something different. Is it just his nerves or have you ever heard of that? I told him that Friday I would take a test but to calm down and nothing is calming his nerves. Should his nervousness cause me to be nervous? Thanks y'all!

Q1:Are there every any signs that the baby might come early? My mom had 4 girls all preme, so I think I might have my little girl early! Q2: Wen your uterus grows, what happends to your insides, do they just all move up under your rib cage? (by insides I mean your liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines, etc.)? Q3: Is it possible for the baby to kick your stomach (inside were your food is being processed) so hard that they make you puke? Just curious, was laying awake unable to sleep and was thinking about it! I'm having an ultrasound between 20-22 weeks (the beginning of October) to find out if we're having a girl or a boy. I heard I should drink something like oj or eat something with sugar in it to get the baby moving before this ultrasound so he/she isn't sleeping and hiding his/her parts. Do you think this is true?

I'm 16 and about 5 weeks ago my boyfriend and I had sex (protected) but I'm worried I might be pregnant: Here are my 'symptoms' :


I'm late for my period
My stomach (down by my ovaries) is hurting
I've been feeling like I'm going to throw up. (I threw up this morning)
My boobs have been really hurting.
I've been having temperature flashes (going from hot to cold and vice versa)
I feel like I have to pee a lot more than usual.
Craving a lot of food (Chicken, Burgers, a lot of meat)
Headaches

I know I should take a pregnancy test, but I'm so scared. Like I said, I'm 16, I don't know what I'm going to do if it says I'm pregnant. I haven't told my mom about any of this, please help in any way you can!!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if it were safe to swim. We put chlorine and bleach in the pool to keep it clean. My concern was about the bleach.

Well, the tests show positive, so don't tell me to take a test, but here is the problem: I had my last period July 28th. I had sex on Aug. 3rd and Aug. 8th. After that, I had some bleeding (only spotting). I had a pregnancy HCG test, it showed positive but only 150 u/l. My doctor said I might have been pregnant since before my period and miscarried, and I repeated the test after a few days, and it was 125 u/l, so he said this confirmed the miscarriage version (because the hormone decreased). Today I had a test and it showed 265 u/l. It is increased, but still quite low, especially after 10 days of being 150. So my question is: has this ever happened to you? Do you know what the HCG level should be before being late? Could the HCG have risen after a miscarriage? Please answer only if you are a med. professional or have had a similar case.

I am going to be 25 weeks tomorrow and I have been thinking...the doctors are saying that I conceived on a day which, one I was not with my husband and two I was on my period..I am a little confused..is it possible that we conceived before my period and that with me flying and traveling to the top of a mountain and doing the usual military stuff that I would still get my period?

I go tomorrow for my 20 week scan, I'm hoping we'll find out what I'm having. Until then, I think it would be fun for everyone to guess what I'm having.

A few details:
-I haven't had morning sickness at all.
-I've gained 13lbs so far.
-The babies heart beat is usually in the 150's and 160's.
-I crave salty and spicy foods constantly.
-I FINALLY starting feeling the baby kick/move yesterday.

My back gets real tight and before I was pregnant I would lay face down on the floor and my husband would push down on my spine up and down until it cracked. It always cracked....ALOT and it felt so much better afterwards. I know I can not do it the same way but is there a way to do it without putting pressure on my abdomen that would be safe?

I have a few questions. I started taking a Z-pack (antibiotic) on July 30th for a sinus infection. No one told me that an antibiotic would mess with my birth control... So me and my husband have had unprotected sex four times since then... I had my period the week after I took the antibiotic and since my period, we have had unprotected sex three times... For about a week, I have been TIRED even though I get plenty of sleep. I have also been not feeling good. Like nauseated and like I'm having period cramps, but I haven't thrown up... So here are my questions:
1- Are these pregnancy signs?
2- Is it too soon to buy a pregnancy test and test myself?
